  1. Ive been on to most major tyre manufactures websites and it's a bit worrying. In most cases I searched for the car to get a matching set. Here is what I found Goodyear, They seem to say Asymmetric 2 are available in matching sets, Continental, Conti Sport 3 Michelin, do not currently offer a matching set Pirelli, do not currently offer a matching set Dunlop, do not currently offer a matching set Hankook, do not currently offer a matching set Bridgestone, no tyres available in either size Toyo, T1 Sport available as a matching set, you can even go 295 on the rear if you like Falcon, Azensis FK453 available as a matching set. (we have these on our BMW Z4, and perform well
  2. Had a good long chat with Event yesterday, and currently all they can offer me are Continentals as a matching set. I did ask about Asymmetric 2's but they are not currently available for the fronts. This is not good for a car that only went out of production in 2004. Disappointed as I really wanted to try something else, it's not my Continentals are worn, they sitll have a good amount of tread on them, but they have been on the car for nearly 8 years, and dont feel that great. Hunt goes on, I'll keep you posted
  3. I'm going through this conundrum with my GT3 as it has Nova's. Im going to try Event tyres as Ive used them for years and if you ring up they will usually bend over backwards to help. Conti Sport 3's are available as matching sets but I have those currently and they are a bit on the hard side. Just a word or warning if you go wider on the front, you risk rubbing on the inside of the wheel arch. I will let you know how I get on with Event.
  4. I would be interested to know too, as mine is about 6 shades of grey, and it would benefit from a spruce up
  5. Ahh, I thought the flange nuts were nordlock, but now I see what you mean, might put nordlock washers on and see how I go.
  6. Top tip if you are switching from steel to ally tanks and are not going to re use the old tanks, and are trying to do the job with the engine in situ. Once you have drained the tank/s flush though with water then cut off the steel bent nozzle from the bottom of the tank, they then just lift out almost vertically. Main reason for removing/dropping the engine is that to get this nozzle out of the bodywork you have to tilt the tank over, then the engine is in the way.
  7. Funny this should come up. My 2 year old Alunox manifold developed a blow last week, and i feared the worse, that a weld had gone. jacked the car up yesterday and crawled under for a look. Hey presto front port has one stud missing and one with the stud still in but the nut gone. I used the Nordlock type nuts that came with the manifold but obviously didnt fasten them up tight enough. Lesson leanred
  8. Hi Scott, I fitted one to my GT3 a couple of years ago, and did it the hard way with the engine still in, although I did use a 2 post lift. Job took a mamouth 2 1/2 days, most of that getting the old one out. You will need a collection of 13mm spanners you can grind cut and bend. I would also recommend taking out the boot floor for better access to the turbo. As said above can be tricky to line up to fit, I disassembled mine to make it easier. On the plus side it makes a huge difference to the sound, especially when fitted with a decat pipe.
  9. Ah another GT3 owner, welcome back. As for the heater, mine is fine although it does seem to be either on or off. Mirror switch is Cavalier as far as I know
  10. Love it, welcome to another GT3 owner, stunning looking low miler. Can you tell me what the last 2 numbers of the chassis number are? gives an indication of it's position in the production run, mine ends 21, so is believed to be No22
  11. Well all sorted, it does seem to have been the cap. I fitted a new 15psi cap bought for £5 from a locak motor factor, and after a 140 mile run yesterday it's hardly used any. my investigations did reveal a very slight leak on the chargecooler pump, which fitting an electric one should cure
  12. It's one that looked nice with a locking tab, im sure it was the right rating but to be honest not sure, so first port of call
  13. There does seem to be always a lot of water in the expansion tank Nick, think I will put the proper cap on the header tank and see what happens. I am as I aid going to replace all the hoses just because of their age, I did have a leak on the one going to the turbo last year, caused by perishing so I suppose that should be a warning as to the condition of the rest of them.
  14. My GT3 has developed quite a thurst. After a run or two I have to top the header tank up with up to 2 litres of water. Thing is there are no visible leaks or puddles on the floor either when the engine is running or off. The only thing I can see is what looks like a couple of pink trails from the chargecooler pump, running down the block. The expansion tank is at around the right level, so where is it all going? I dont have the std rad cap on the header tank, is it possible that it's venting out of that? I am aware that the hoses are all now 19 years old and am going to replace everything as a matter of course, but it just seems odd. Any words of wisdom?
  15. I remember talking to an engineer at the Paris Motorshow in 2010, he said they had a supercharged IS-F engine on the bench putting out well over 550bhp, shame we never saw it in a mule. not all supercar manufacturers use their own engine, unless they have the backing of a Major, say VW or Fiat for instance. Pagani use Merc engines.
  16. Gordon, I got rear discs fron EBC for my GT3. Also got Green Stuff pads. You should have Brembo brakes on your car same as mine
  17. The Launch edition was nearer 58K however my mate tells me the Launch editions are now changing havds at over 70K!!
  18. Mate of mine has got the Launch edition and took it to Le Mans Classic. It ended up at the dealer when the dash lit up like a christmas tree, but only a faulty temp sensor. sounds nice, and goes like stink, but you can see where they got the idea from.
  19. Seek us out on Facebook John, we have a group page https://www.facebook.com/groups/132468536783095/
  20. The S4s at Matty's is now sold, anyone know who the celeb Chef was?
  21. Got tickets for Friday & Saturday then doing the outside of the circuit known as over the bridge and classic car park on Sunday. Get there early, stay late. We have a different look for both days, one day Eton Rowing Club blazer, flannels, cravat, pipe etc, next white cotton overalls with bow tie for the Mike Hawthorn look. Also the actors they put in the crowds are excellent, spiv's, policemen, etc etc, last year they even had the Great Train robbers.
  22. Can I join the club, 69k for mine
