  1. All, Anybody try an SJ Sportscars exhaust manifold on an early turbo and if so what do you think of the fit/finish etc. Pics would be great. Does it retain the original wastegate? Trevor.
  2. Bibs, If it was a blue one then It was probably me as we went back that way past the chip shop. Like you I haven't had a soaking like that for a long while but didn't dampen the day. Bring on the next one. Spearmint Rino anyone Trevor.
  3. All, Good to meet with you all. A few pics here. http://s289.photobucket.com/albums/ll235/T...n%20Jan%202009/ Trevor.
  4. Unless everyone drops out I will still be going. Be nice to eat fish and chips whilst watching the sea gently lap over the ridge tiles. Trevor.
  5. Les, Not cheap but of course if it does the job well then you soon forget the cost. Trevor.
  6. Les, So what was the final price? I may need one soon. Trevor.
  7. Sparky, Bibs, Is this the part? http://jeep.maguireclan.net/index.php?c=10...Position_Sensor If so seems to be fitted to a lot of American c--p and so Watfords best bet would be Bob Harman. Trevor.
  8. Nello, Seems not. My handbook says check the oil within 2 minutes of turning the engine off. From experience, if left longer, the oil level rises and therefore if you go by that reading you would have to drain some oil out for it to read correctly on the dipstick. This would effectively leave the operating oil level low leading to starvation, I would think. Trevor.
  9. Nello, Yes I think the roof radio was very pricey. I thought, like you, that the dry sump was dropped on cost but also read many places that early cars were blowing engines when the oil level dropped through normal useage and if you left it too long to check the oil after turning off the engine then oil drains back to the tank and gives a false reading. I think probably a combination of the two reasons are close. Trevor.
  10. This also begs the question, how many are left? I understand a number were converted to wet sump due to owners difficulties checking oil levels correctly. Trevor.
  11. 1. Bibs 2. Martyn 3. Felix 4. Chris 5. Sparky 6. Trevsked Well at least Sparky now has a deadine to fix my car by, no pressure of course.
  12. All, Following on from the S4s thread asking how many were produced, I couldn't see any figures for non Essex dry sump cars. Anyone know? Trevor.
  13. Sparky, No excuses, all the parts are here . Trevor

  15. guys, Always up for a meet and a chat. I live in Rickmansworth and was up the Ace last night although not in my Esprit (Classic Car Night by the way). Great place to meet. Will soon get my car back on the road once Sparky works his his magic on the usual exhaust stud problem. Trevor.
  16. Dave, The discount at Halfords with a card is variable. I bought a 065 battery this week and ticket price was indeed
  17. Ajay, Thanks for the heads up on that. When I get round to it I will post up my experience. Trevor.
  18. RLC, I find it easiest to use a length of tube/hose. One end to your ear and the other moved all around the manifold and you will soon locate it. Trevor.
  19. Les, Thanks for the reply. Sounds like good advice leaving it until i have a cracked manifold. It was really a case of having to do quite a bit of work to get the manifold off that I only wanted to do it once . How did you tackle yours, head off or engine out? Do you have any pics? Trevor.
  20. Mercman, I see you have your turbo up for sale and have fitted a different manifold. Have I missed posts about this and if not then what were your experiences with this conversion/cost. I have a blowing manifold (stud gone not a cracked manifold) and am considering my options. Trevor.
  21. Wife out and have the children but will go along in the T2 if I get chance. Esprit out of MOT at the moment. Trevor.
  22. Thanks to those that organised the get together last night. It was nice to see people you talk to on the forum just a pity I had to get back for the babysitter or I would have stayed a bit longer. Trevor.
