Hope you didn’t go with them or should I say ever need to claim! Whilst I’m a massive hater of Insurance Companies - Hastings Direct have got my 1st prize of 2022 for The most incompetent, Poor service provider and general incompetent Company I’ve ever had the non-privilege to deal with. Daughter had a non-fault accident 1st week of October. Her car was recovered and put in a holding pen until a loss assessment could be made and a decision on write off or repair. Firstly Nobody looked at the car for 4 weeks! Next they decided it would be cost effective to repair it - great! - It then takes another 4 weeks for them to then find a body shop who weren’t too busy to take it. 2 months after the accident, Hastings Direct call my daughter and she now gets a hire car delivered to her to use whilst at the body shop! Another 48 hours pass (after she gets the hire car) and the hire car Company (not Hastings Direct) call her to say because her car had now been written off they want the hire car back within the next 24 hours. She calls Hastings Direct (one of many many sit on hold for 45 minute calls listening to a recording of “you are a valued customer, please continue to hold” to now be told yes we are writing it off (why a hire car company knows before daughter I’ll never know!) - that was 19th December! - A fortnight later (now) still no more updates/calls, emails or no sign of their first valuation offer to pay out! 3 Months after the original accident, We are currently trying to speak to the Complaints department of the Complaints Department at Hastings Direct. @showerofshithastingsdirect This is definitely one going to the Ombudsman! Hastings Direct - Avoid at all costs.

My LV renewal came through last week. Had the Evora 4 years now already. Liverpool Victoria wanted a whole £1 more this year at renewal!! 😳 Renewed and very happy.

My hate of Insurance Companies is only surpassed by my hatred of Airlines. It always has been, get as much money out of passengers as possible, but even more so today in this day an age. A number of years ago I paid for 2 way tickets for my wife and both daughters to fly from Heathrow to Nürnberg and I drove there separately. At the last minute one of my daughters decided to keep me company and drive with me so just my other daughter and wife got their flight. Two weeks later I set off on my own to drive home (a number of hours earlier) and wife and 2 kids arrived at the airport. My wife was then told as 1 daughter didn’t make the outgoing flight they cancelled the return and we then had to pay over £300 for a one way flight home for 1 daughter who drove out there with me.(@KLMrobinbasterds) I liken it to buying a concert ticket or football match ticket and not getting there until half time then being asked to pay double the original cost to see the second half! - Legalised robbery. My daughter has had a Paris trip booked with her boyfriend, going out this coming Saturday morning from Bristol. Yesterday her boyfriend had to have an emergency operation so can’t now go on a plane Saturday. He said to her if possible still go but take a friend/relative instead. After contacting the airline they have asked for £300 to change a name on a ticket! This can’t be any more than pressing a button on a computer in my opinion. (@EASYJETrobinbasterds) Absolutely outrageous rip off. Personally I hope these greedy airlines go bankrupt and out of Business (they probably will at some point leaving lots of stranded passengers across the World and not giving a toss about them) Well aware Its not the poor employees of these rip off Companies but the fat cat bosses. Tossers.

There is definitely two sides to this World Cup. The Football side and the Political side. Unfortunately both are so intertwined now and can’t be separated. There is just as much (rightly) Political talk per game than football talk. Personally I love football (almost as much as Rugby) but having supported a Club team for 55 years who have never won anything, I do so look forward to the Football World Cup to the slight, very slight possibility of just maybe winning. (Someone has to) The players themselves are kind of in a no win position. We all know they are a bunch of extremely, ridiculously highly paid individuals but many of them will only get the 1 opportunity to play for their Country at a World Cup - the pinnacle of a whole career and just maybe the most memorable moments of their entire life. I’m sure all they want to do is kick a ball and play football without all the added pressure and advice of they should be doing this or waring that. If FIFA have come out and said anyone warring the armband will be yellow carded, it doesn’t leave them much choice - Unless every player from every Country comes out and sticks two fingers up at both Qatar and FIFA. It’s no secret, FIFA are the big disgrace for awarding the World Cup to this backward Nation. Bungs and backhanders are the sole reason it’s there and everyone knows it.
