  1. Thanks guys. Will get all this checked. Nice car. GT3 in a V8 body kit. I'd post some pictures if I could work out how I do that.
  2. I thought about naming the title 'what an idiot'. Not me, customer of a friend, has accidently wired up the battery the wrong way round on his 1998 Esprt GT3. Now it doesn't start. Any idea on what might have stopped working, what needs replacing, where to start.
  3. My car broke down, and in the end after checking everything it was found to be a faulty rotar arm. It had signs of arching; Might have been a bad lot, but I bought it from a specialist. This was when I was going through everything on my car to get it running smoothly. I kept the old and original Lucas rotor arm, that I cleaned up and bungged in. Good job too. Hey presto, she fired up. This cost me dearly. I missed several meetings during the Le Mans 24hrs. Esprit stopped in a dodgy area, and I had to get it trailered. Didn't know then how simple it was, and had already killed the battery. Now to stop the likelyhood of this happening again, I want to buy a good hassle free rotor arm. So what about these whizzy red rotor arms MG owners use. Its the same distributor. Anyone tried the Powermax ? http://www.ebay.co.u...r-/110458804727 I think I'll buy two if they are the preferred option; I've read all about substandard copies with poor insulation properties concerning the plastic. Obviously don't want this.
  4. Thanks Bibs, only proper the original owner put the link up. I hesitated, but happy you did it. Goes really well your motor. In safe hand over here mate. Maybe when you buy a property here, you can buy her back :-) I won't be selling my Turbo. It was nice to watch it following me (as well as it could), as I went for a blast in the countryside.
  5. Its a great car. Super quick, and solid. Feels like a new car with the suspension. I posted a video on You Tube. Hervé S4S see you are close in Brittany. Depends how far though. Car is en Sarthe. Mate of mine has an S4S here in Sarthe too.
  6. Hi she now in France for definate Plate BI8 LEF is up for offers if anyone is interested. I gave Bibs first offer already. All costs for transfer or a deal on ideally a SE turbo spoiler being an option.
  7. Hi, looking for an SE Turbo rear spoiler, ideally black, but can settle for any colour. Not a problem if a bit rough. Good price ideally. Contact me. Cheers, Eddie
  8. I can confirm Bi8 LEF is now in France. Watch this space !!!
  9. I'll be at Chateau d'Eporcé tonight to collect my ticket, share familiar banter with other Lotus owners, in my Esprit, and with the skis, see ya
  10. Perhaps moving abroad soon :-) better climate
  11. Hi Hopo, Best I PM you. You have the same colour car Turbo Esprit, like me then? My car broke down during Le Mans. Looks like battery and spark plug issues. Nothing major. Will find out tomorrow. My Esprit seems to get through spark plugs. Is that normal?
  12. Hi, everyone. I'm here, I live here, but camping at Mulsanne as too many mates from UK come over and don't want to fall out with err in doors. My Turbo Esprit is all ready. I was out an about this morning. Managed a trip round the circuit before they start the process closing the road for the qualification. Friend of mine spotted a nice Turbo Esprit, white, with gold lettering in town. Anyone on here the owner? Would be good to meet up. CBW at St Saturnin friday morning. Also meet up at The Bounty put in Etang des Chères. Its run by Brits, proper bar, and London Pride on tap. Well I hope to see you Bibbs, and the owner of the white Turbo Esprit. Cheers, Eddie
  13. Hi, You doing a bond car project? You need help for the ski mounts? For the skis, another way is to copy the logos and attach to skis from the same era. This is what I'm doing right now.
  14. H.i there are 3 Esprits en Sarthe. Mine (Turbo Esprit), friend with a SE, and another with a very late S3 N/A. Rodolph, will you be at the Le Mans Classic? I'll be in on Club Lotus, this time. I might go for it with the skis too !!!
  15. is that right the system got stripped out and car sold on. Shame. For sure now you could have a voice activated version. The video is long and there other stuff probably not so relevent. Here I made a short version, just on this artical:
  16. I've finally bought the MT90. Three 946ml bottles worth. The bottles look like some product body builders might drink. I don't think i'll try that though. I had some contact with Harry, a while back. Lost the links but found them here. Great this forum. Job for the weekend. Car should be ready for the Le Mans Classic.
  17. A job I have long been considering to do. My air duct is tired but not completely collapsing. So I've just looked on SJs for a price. It's now £113.48 so with the 20% vat that makes it £136.18!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Taking the peee I feel, if I'm being polite What warrants this price?
  18. Hi, Mate just took his S4 out tonight for a spin to impress a female customer at his garage. Blasted up the road then crawled back. He reckons he's killed the turbo. Oh bugger..... Where to get a replacement, sensibly priced option if possible? Thanks
  19. Hi what's the IACV? Nope quick jab on the throttle changes nothing. I had a word with Miles Wilkins. He said it was some electrical black box or something that's now not available, typical. That would need changing... Oh and lots of swear words Lotus this Lotus that etc, that I can't mention here. Good old Miles....
  20. Hi, Try again, message didn't appear for some reason. Right I have a high idle issue (well mate has). He has a S4 1994 year. Good car. On initial start up it revs high, which is normal, then it settles down okay. Then when the car has been on a run and all up to temperature it idles high, at 20 on the rev counter. Is it a sensor that needs replacing? Any help would be appreciated, thanks
  21. 1. Bibs 2. The Persian 3. PFD 4. Mike6 5. Kevin Ritson 6. eddie111S (although now I'm out an about in a Turbo Esprit) 7. Sidcup bloke No1 (Blue Turbo Esprit HC)* 8. Sidcup bloke No2 (Red Turbo Esprit)* * Soon to be joining the forum
  22. I agree, terrible advert. We have to thank someone they didn't (DID NOT) put a white stripe down the side, trying to give a Starsky & Hutch feeling. Getaway car. Reminds me of the bit from the film Snatch where Tyron trys to get out of a Rover SD1. How the hell would these blokes get out of an Esprit in the first place. It's already an act for a normal sized person. The front end bobs down alot when he skips over it. Bloody fool !!!
  23. John, Tried to PM you, but it wouldn't work. Interested in that wiper wheel box though. Try to PM me, with a way of contacting you. Cheers, Eddie
  24. Hi, Same issue. Wheel box has gone though. Also spinddle for attaching the wiper arm, thread is well and truely finished. My fault screwing un-screwing to try and set the thing right. Wiper box is showing LUCAS ENGLAND 729650 8WB or 8. The main number is 729650. Anyone know a cross ref for this. Seen various MG & Triumph types (original Lucas), on e-bay. Other option is to weld the shaft to the gear plate, then cut spindle shaft and replace with new thread. Obvious concern is strength and centralising the new spindle shaft. Motor diecast securing to tube is loose too. Motor works and flexible part not damaged. Just need new replacement Wheel box
