Total fix? They did not want Lewis to win again.

If you don't follow the rules, then that lets anyone do anything, bigger engines /wings /more fuel, destruction derby, different tyres......

I don't support Merc, but RBR even less.

We had a Merc car once, not again.

What do you need to become F1 World Champion? A Brit as FIA Director…

YES!!!

You are quite correct, the FIA handed the win to Max. Just like they did in Spa. Congratulations.

Really

I think so, yes. It's going the way of wrestling - more stage management than a Hollywood Musical.

In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

If that is correct then surely mercedes will take this to court

The big loser today was F1

I'm still fuming after hearing what Horner said to Masi.

Jenson Button was absolutely right when he said that the teams should not be able to speak to the race director during a race. This has to change for next year!

They are appealing the decisions

Even the wife agreed it was a shambles for the pinnacle of motor sports and not surprised they would appeal.

I do not see given the appalling comms and decisions how that Race Directors position can be tenable going forwards. His judgement is all over the place and he is equally arrogant and condescending on the radio.

Not sure whether you are saying there should be a Brit as FIA race director or that he is a Brit but Michael Masi is Australian.

Agreed, whom ever won, with all those rules in F1, it was going to be a rules decision. Not a racing decision.

Congratulations.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I've been following F1 since 1980 and have seen similar situation in the past.

Never have rules been able to bring fairness. It's war behind the steering wheel. To be honest, it's that war that brings all the beauty in races. Nobody want's a winner by rules...

Red Bull meeting with the stewards over. If you can read anything into the look on Christian Horner’s face as he walked through the paddock, he did not look a happy chap

Have to admit that last couple of minutes and laps was knife edge tension ?
even my partner who hates any sports especially motorsport was watching behind her hands and was running out of the room as the tension was too Much ! 😆

The winner today is obviously Verstappen? yes but for me the biggest winner is Liberty Media and there partnership with Netflix and sadly for me it felt more contrived than a episode of Coronation Street.

Jennie Gow

The teams went into a meeting with the race director.

I can tell you that Mercedes took a barrister with them.

The head honchos from both race teams appeared before the stewards.

They then came out, Christian Horner looked at me, winked, broke into a little smile and carried on walking.

Then I heard they have just adjourned the meeting and will reconvene in eight minutes.

I can say it's highly unusual for Mercedes to have brought a barrister to the race track but it was for exactly this kind of scenario
