I'll check mine in the morning.

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

My SE (and others I've had in the Shop) is a 12mm metric. Part nr is the same for the SE and S4.

I have made many mistakes in my life. Buying a multiple Lotus is not one of them.

Hi all, lost my sump hex socket for my S4 , is it metric or imperial and what size? Thanks

Interesting. Reading your post and John's reply, It would appear that your sump plug has a head for a hex socket. Mine takes an Allen key. I have a 12 mm one that fits it, but I would suggest that it is 1/2" as the 12mm is a bit sloppy in it.

Not much help to you really, is it?

To clarify, mine also takes an Allen key. Same plug as for the cam carrier bolts.
I think it was the earlier ones that used a hex head, in combination with a smaller sump according to the parts list. I don't know the size socket needed, but can check on the Turbo Esprit tomorrow.

My '82 & '85 S3s & my '89 Turbo all had hex head drain plugs, part number A036R6014Z, which I'm pretty sure was 18mm because I remember buying an 18mm rachet ring spanner for it. MY '95 S4s had a socket head drain plug, part number A911E6343F

Hi all, thanks for the replies. My description “hex socket” was doubtful as I seem to remember an Allen key type end projecting from the socket and half inch seems about right. I will report back when I get a chance to have a look ,as there are a few alternatives and I am not sure of my memory.
