TLF Official Lotus/CTL Factory Tours 2023

From Lotus:

Hethel, the home of Lotus.  Since 1966 this peaceful part of Norfolk has reverberated with the sounds of some of the world’s most exciting and innovative motor cars.  We invite Lotus car club members to visit the factory at Hethel, at a rate reserved for Lotus car club members, and to see for themselves how Lotus has transformed into a truly global brand.  A visit will enable owners to tour the factory and witness the build of the new Emira.  Aficionados will boost their experience by combining their tour with a visit to Classic Team Lotus where they can tune in to Lotus’s legendary Formula One history.

Lunch is also independently available at the nearby Lotus themed Bird in Hand pub.

Owners Club days are offered subject to the following conditions:

Thursdays 0930-1200 

Minimum group size of 8, maximum of 16.

£105 per person for a combined factory/heritage tour.

This is usually £140 per person so a great deal for us!

Please let me know if you'd like to book and I'll post up arrangements once we've got enough numbers! Would be a nice outing for regional groups of just a bunch of TLFers who either not been or not been for a while, lots has changed in the last couple of years!

Have suggested to her indoors that we (I) should attend on one of these days, if we combine it with a few days away up that way. Having not been to the factory for years.

im in mate ,are we likely to get 8+, and when is the cut off to for you to say its cancelled not enough people, because I would like to book accommodation for the Wednesday

Let's start a list and see if we can meet the numbers required. Please note that this is now an afternoon tour on the 9th March.

I might be interested in the future, really want to get to a meet, but I'm all out of holiday due to family visits abroad (COVID has meant a long time since we've seen each other) so I'd need to wait for a later date if this ever gets anywhere!

 

BTW @Bibsmight be a me problem, but if like to see the events section a bit more front and centre. For dinner reason it's not something that jumps out on the forum and would really like to get to a meet. Seems quiet in the Berkshire area!

Sorry mate but yes, I think that's for the best. Amazed at the lack of interest to be honest. I've got more dates for the year but I'm reluctant to post them up and will have to let Lotus know.

Just a quick note to anyone wondering if the tours are worthwhile…

my wife bought me a tour as an early birthday present for yesterday and it was a really great experience.

We got to see and talk through a huge proportion of the processes used by the factory, from bare subframes and chassis through to final QC.  Really impressive investment in people and kit and a huge amount of care and enthusiasm all through the assembly process.

even got to take a look in the Evija assembly area… very cool

worth the trip across from East Devon, even in the rain!
