2011 Evora S A/C controls backlighting

Are these controls supposed to be backlit? Maybe I have a bulb out.

If they're not backlit as standard, are there known options to backlight them? Maybe the controls from later models could be retrofitted?

Thanks.

Yes, they should be backlit. They're part of the dash dimmer circuit, so check that you have your brightness turned up. If you still can't see the backlighting, then you have to replace the HVAC control panel, as the lighting isn't provided by bulbs or replaceable LEDs.

When I thought I had the same issue with mine, I made sure I was adjusting the dash panel in the dark as the console lighting is very subtle an can't be seen in daylight.

When the dots on the knobs were visible I felt I'd found the optimum setting.

Hope it works for you as it's a nice easy fix and does make a difference to the overall look of the cabin at night I think 👍

I have the same problem with my HVAC panel, the lighting is non existent, only working intermittently, I actually have a second hand spare and am going to fit it, I was going to send it to a guy who has done work to s2 Elise panels on Facebook, he said he would take a look. I haven't got round to it yet though.

I've had chance to replace the HVAC panel today and the backlighting is now working, it has two stages of light depending on the brightness of the instrument cluster, which tells uis that it's an issue with the panels not the wiring or signal going to the HVAC panel. Here are a few of the one that isn't working.

Just tried and the controls aren't illuminating, but the 4 buttons are.  So it looks like the HVAC panel needs replacing.

Any tips on where to get one? I did some looking around online but I couldn't find parts. I dont use FB, so I couldnt try the link above unfortunately. I havent tried a dealer yet.

Hi, the link above on Facebook was for a chap that repairs s2 Elise panels, I have messaged him and he hasn't done an Evora panel before but would be prepared to attempt it but couldn't guarantee he could repair it. The assembly of the Elise s2 one is very similar in that it's an led panel built into the top layer that sticks on apart from the Elise unit is aluminum and the Evora is plastic. With regards replacement, there is a second hand unit on eBay but comes with the panel so not cheap  https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166470267509?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=4ZOkTBZxSBW&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=MR4wgOISRf2&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

If new the part number is: c132m0039, link below is for deroure but there's cheaper dealers, I tend to use Paul at Oakmere.

£245 + vat

The chap on Facebook is prepared to undertake a repair, they actually replace the lighting board / ribbon with their own lighting panel, this would potentially be more robust than the original if it was successful. The Elise price is £120 so potentially a good saving 👍.
