Hendy Motor Fest at Thruxton 2024 Sunday 28 July

Seems to have changed its name for this year, they seem to have dropped their 'performance name' used to post previous events on TLF. The guy who helped organise Hendy performance seems to have left at the end of last year.

Have no idea if Lotus will be well represented by the one dealer that Hendy now have.

Would hope to see Emeya for the first time - maybe???

Am surprised that they are having club stands etc, as the guy who looked after this sort of thing has left. He and his wife both had US cars and went to car shows almost every weekend and kept in contact with the clubs - was on here as 'John Hendy Eastleigh'. One weekend they turned up at the Cars and Cuppas morning do near the Farm shop east of Exeter, this was the first time Eletre had been to that event.

@Bibs did they give any indication of their dealer Lotus presence?  In years gone by it was more of a Ford show. If they are putting on a reasonable presence then it may be worth going.  Has LEC got a invite as well.

I emailed the organisers over 6 weeks ago about what sort of Hendy Lotus presence there may be, but have had no reply.  (Having previously emailed Lotus Southampton directly - who said contact the organisers)

Think the tickets are for general entry not show cars?

At the moment I feel the Lotus presence will be small compared to previous years, so unless I get some better info, will be unlikely to go.

Was thinking if the Emeya was to be present, it may be the only chance to see one anywhere in the South West.

Seems to be sold out!

This still seems to be the case. There does not appear to be a 'club' application, still not had any reply from the organisers, so have no intention of going.

I got an email from the Wessex group a couple of days ago with similar info but for LDC.

I quite fancy it as it's a fun day and not too far... Thanks for the joining info @Bibs, I will see if the calendar allows and if there's a space left once I've decided 🙂

Not this one Mark. I've been the last two years - enjoyed it but likely less Lotus content now and there's only so many times you want to see the Paul Swift show!

That's a fair point!  Well, it should be a nice half day out anyway - maybe see some of you all at the First Thursday meet in Okehampton next week?

Not seen Mike at one of these meets, more likely to make it to SWLC open day in September.  @MPx going to SWLC?

From Hendy FB post,  does not look like a load of Hendy Lotus stock was present.

May be an image of 7 people, car and text

May be an image of 4 people, car, road and text

Yes, that was it (the Emira was the turbo) and full of kids all day which was nice to see (wouldn't fancy the cleaning job after all those sticky hands!).

No Emeya, and a DV V6 Emira parked up by the cafe which was locked up along with a Ferrari and a couple of other nice things.

Lots of other 'daily' brands, lots of electric SUV trucks etc.  There was a nice red Honda NSX (though auto!) and the Vauxhall SRV which was cool and I'd never seen before.

Probably won't bother with this next year! 🙂
