Does the consierge come and press the button for you when you get in the lift?

Y'know what? I haven't the faintest idea. The button always seems to be pre-pressed as we get into the lift/elevator. I guess that's a sign of good staff - you just don't see them...

Take this for example, as you know this is the view from our room and very nice it is too:

However, we both decided it wasn't wintry enough so phoned the front desk to see what they could do. The next day the decorators were in:

Isn't that the golf course "club house" peeking out from the trees at the far right? Always a favourite of ours for a quick (and usually quiet in the winter [yuh think?]) snack.
