My fuel pump took a dump over 500 miles from my house.  $4,000.00 dollars and 3 tows later, the premium orange juice V8 Esprit is back.  It took a few of the paddle rubs and yelling "CLEAR" for it to return to the living from the dead.

After 92 days going cold turkey, I finally got my Evora fix today when I collected my P&J from the bodyshop after its way too close and personal encounter with an SUV in a car park back in the dim and distant past - it took so long to source some of the parts needed before it even went in for repair that I though I might never see it resplendent again.

However it was worth the wait. My chosen repairer may not be the quickest or the cheapest, and I'm sure they'd be the first to agree with that, but they're certainly the best. They match my nit-picking attention to detail and that's saying something.

While it was in, and with the clam having to come off anyway for repair, it seemed a shame to let all that paint they were mixing, go to waste so I took the opportunity to add another couple of embellishments to the front end which I'm well-pleased with I have to say - I think I've really got the spirit of GT4 captured now,  .

Thanks Andy, it turned out even better than I was expecting.

The wheel arch vents are fully functioning, not just for show, with baffle boxes beneath to prevent any crap from the tyres being thrown up through the vents and onto the clam or windscreen.

I'm also hoping that the louvres on the radiator outlet duct create a venturi-effect and help suck out all the warm air that lurks in there. If nothing else, they look way better than the flat mesh panels that were there before which were starting to look decidedly second-hand with a dent/crease in one of them and paint starting to flake off them both.

The body repair guys commented on that too - the carbon on this bumper seems to be even better than the previous one and I thought it was pretty good.

Having got home yesterday from a wonderful week’s holiday  in north Cornwall I am very proud of my missus. She managed to walk round the whole of Port Isaac and Tintagle castle amongst other wonderful towns and villages. Considering her health implications, she’s my hero.

Actually this relates to last Saturday. My kids go to the local comprehensive school. One of them is currently taking his GCSEs. He is studying History amongst other subjects. He has two teachers and both of them have taken off Saturday mornings together to hold video revision sessions with all of the pupils on two recent occasions. These are full 3 to 4 hour events and presumably took much longer than that to prepare. I have to take my hat off to them both for their dedication and effort. 
 

On a side note, it makes me feel really old, because some of the “History” he has been learning was actually my “Present”! Cold War, East Germany etc.

I have been planning a business trip in Scotland in a month’s time. My God the hotels are expensive up there! Even boggo Premier Inns are well into the £100s per night. Those in Edinburgh well over £200! Those same Premier Inns where I live in England are about £70-£90. Looking at independent hotels, it’s the same story. I’m glad it’s not my money I am spending.

Just being out in the sunshine. With nature. Enjoying a lovely walk and then a superb coffee in an independent, real coffee shop, not a shitey American/American influenced chain.

Went to see the Foo Fighters on Saturday night, home at midnight and in a cab at 4am to Heathrow to fly to Munich, drive 905bhp's worth of GT car to the Austrian alps, stay in a beautiful location at the foot of the alps and then repeat the same in reverse (direction, not gear) today but with only 600bhp! Epic couple of days, plenty of vMax on the autobahn and alps driving.
