What made you happy today?

I'm glad to read that some others on here have grown some and got a result.

I'm sorry to say @Mark Blanchardthat @bibs was right!

No means no just like Brexit means Brexit.

Just tell her your going on a sex strike until she gets the work done.

I'm assuming of course your not bothered if it ever gets done. And of course you won't get done either. But for sticking to ones principles its a small price to pay.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

I'm with everyone else on this @Mark Blanchard. I've given up on DIY, decorating and all that sh*te. I have too many garage projects on the go to waste time on making the house look nicer. Yep, got the same result, she does all of the decorating now. If she wants it, she does it... :animier:

So finally some peace . . .

Mark, real sorry to put a damper on your peace, but. That you do realise that, that last sentence was the kiss of death on the word PEACE. As Barry has mentioned, the Fourth Road Bridge syndrome has now just started. Have fun.

Actually brought us closer!

One less thing to row about so no added stress. NO is an amazingly powerful word.

As "get to feck and it do it yourself" is a powerful phrase! ;)

No bravado here. I wanted to lay astro turf as was sick of cutting the grass. Wife said no as she liked the grass so guess who has cut the grass at our house in the last 16 years? I'll give you a clue. It's not me.

I work away from home most weeks doing 60+ hours and often another 8 hours at the weekend so my free time is play time not yet more work time. I don't mind gardening though and happy to knock up a stone wall or two and build a patio etc. Find that therapeutic in an odd sort of way. But hanging wallpaper or painting. No fecking way.... Lifes too short and plenty of small businesses to support to get that work done :) Doing my bit to support post Brexit business....

Pretty ambitious time frame. Seem to have the right talent in place. Best of luck to them all in their venture.

Concorde was designed by chaps with slide rules and took a LOT of basic wind tunnel research. The wing was a marvel of aerodynamics. We ought to be able to do better these days; the research has been done..Farnborough has closed down due to having already got the answers!! Thus the only thing standing between us and a new supersonic airliner has always been money. Given the finance, anything is possible. Once must remember that Concorde was initially intended to fly at a cost somewhere between cattle class and first class, but this was overtaken by the increase in fuel cost. The sonic boom, too, was more of a problem than originally envisaged...it's banned overland in the USA...so nothing is going to be simple. Good luck to them anyway.....

Personally I think proper high speed travel needs to be sub orbital these days...the Skylon proposals, for example. Their engine is progressing...and they have EU funding, although how this idiotic "Brexit" nonsense will affect that is still to be seen.

I quite like this "idiotic Brexit nonsense" as I truly believe it will get us back to our creative best - through innovation, invention, inspiration and perspiration we'll get back to finding solutions to tough problems which will give us the confidence to do more things. Remember, if we're not handing over hard earned taxes to Brussels then we can use that cash in other ways. As said before, we hand the Brussels Bully £10, he gives his us £5 back, then kicks the shot out of us for not being grateful enough for his generosity.

Anyway, let's keep politics out of it and hope this project does not get killed off.
