Technically it was yesterday, but I added a lot of lightness to the M100. A really massive weight reduction, I am very happy with the results.

two things   .....

1. Fabricated and installed replacement (missing) heatshield for LHS  tyre (first attempt at any of this)

2. Decided a name for the "Old Girl" - now to be known as 

Silver Greyhound

To follow the idea of names reflecting car colour, I often refer to my Europa as "The Little White Deathtrap".

If you could see the number of badly, but aggressively, driven pickup trucks and SUVs on the road here, the reason for the name would be all too apparent.

I nearly got "reversed over" by a pickup in a little raural English village - "Sorry mate, never saw you in my mirrors" Yikes !!

0-40 mph in reverse gear = super quick 😉😇

had lots of air dried oak planks left over from the conversion and neaded to clear a space in the man cave and provide a new secure home for the ride on which would then allow anotherr car in the garage 😊 so made a pair of doors, my first doors ever !!! (my friend set up his machines and held my hand tho!!!) (top and bottom to be cut on site)

A bit late as it was actually yesterday, BUT, I sold my Focus RS in just a few hours after advertising it. That means I can officially start looking for a 380 Sport hip hip hooray!

so 3 n abit years ago had to take whats left of dads business on (134 years of family history so no pressure) dad at time in papworth with 4 thingy heart bypass at the age of 88 🙄 poor mum goes too with pancreatic cancer and then well oh dont forget the family windmill !!! (oh the one no one has maintained or raised money for ?) so thats ok it only needs well into 6 figures to fix 😒 uh ?? so today i had a fantastic meeting with a national grant funded organisation that have just taken a huge weight off my shoulders 😊 its not going to be a quick fix but seems help is there 😁 jeez i needed that

Meeting a great couple of Lotus owners for a bite to eat and a drink, total distance travel for all of us c 3,500 miles each way, on a c99.94 / 0.03 / 0.03 % split for journey.  Great of @tjs98jetta to pop out to Norwich on his trip to the UK.

Happy today. Oh yes. Big Whammy week for LotusRescue

1/ Progress being made.

We have just purchased a proper, full blown recovery truck which will be fitted with an extra low beaver tail specifically designed for low slung Lotus cars.

2/ Just found and made a deal on a ready made ultra low all alloy beaver tail leaf to fit the recovery truck. And at a bloody good price. And local.

What was parked on the drive behind the truck leaf at the sellers house. A very, very tidy late model Elite 503. Sensible offer made and being seriously considered. Bit of light restoration followed by a for sale if I get it.

3/ Also found a cracking good 3ton winch with full remote control and in perfect working order, again at cracking good price. And local

4/ Also found a very slightly neglected but with huge history file and reasonably low mileage, an Elan M100 and purchased at a sensible price for further restoration and future sale.

5/ The tremendous Mrs Wendy Walsh is keeping busy doing PA and research. Bless her.

Redundant/Retired. Busiest I've been in years. This 7 day week lark is a laugh.

Replaced the door close switches, cleaned all contacts, was still getting the interior light coming on randomly whist driving the Esprit. After much rubbing of chin found the problem and implemented this cure. Possibly the most amateurish of fixes you'll see today, but it works, for now. Door wasn't closing enough by about 2mm. Certainly beats mucking about with the door hanging.

so my wifes family is like the best thing ive been blessed with and sadly within 12 months four have departed, 46, 50, 54 and 79 (but the 79 was still a shock)  today my wife and kids went out with her aunt pat whos lost her husband, daughter in law and youngest son, they all came back for a drink at ours and were happy for the day out they had had, as hard as the loss is seeing smiles kinda makes me happy
