Never collected data from the sc vx but in my NA Evora, my best was 3.06 where as this time in 400 was 3.00.07 with a virtual best of 2.58 so maybe more time to be had?

Was truly awesome!

6 seconds is a 3.3% improvement in lap time for an extra 125 bhp.  I think that kinda shows just how good the original Evora NA was and is.

Your car looks stunning Lee, especially in that second picture. Get that framed and on the wall!

Do you get the lap timing as standard at Spa or was that part of your package. I'm really tempted to go after seeing those pictures and realising the sun can shine in Spa ;)

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Stunning. The Essex Blue was made for the track. Makes you look look like a porn star! ;)

Sorry Thomas! I didn't want to put you through any further anguish but had to state the facts. I don't know the latest on your car but it would be great if it did return to the roads and there were 20 out there once more!

I was very impressed by the GTE, even with standard power it's still a very fast car (along with the Evora S). In particular it felt very thoroughly developed, I should know that Lotus wouldn't have cut corners with it and they didn't going by the way it steers, rides and handles.

At the same price as a new Evora Sport 410 I would find the GTE hard to resist but at £108k for the one currently on sale I would take the Sport 410. That said, the GTE would most likely cost me less overall.

I would love to know the weight and downforce figures for the 'production' GTEs, anyone ever seen any?

I fin d it shocking that Lotus did bother to create leads for the feline kind but did not bother to come up with a suitable solution for the canine kind. Shocking !!! :P

At least the this harness looks legit :)))))

Saw it yesterday. it really hurt, particularly when @The Pits repeatedly spoke of "the 19 GTE's left."

Now having the Exige I really have to agree with his comments on ride quality. I think the GTE set an unmatched level there and seemingly Lotus has decided not to pursue that road any more.

On his remarks on what the car must have been like with the originally planned 442 bhp, I can still say that its a dramatic transformation. Lotus really should reconsider something along the lines of a new Evora GT450. All they really need to do is add the GTE wide body to the Evora 410 and up the price by 30%. That is certainly what Porsche would do (well, more likely 40%).

Have you heard about the mysterious Evora coupe variant this year? Lotus would be working on carbon wheels, carbon front and rear bumpers, carbon trim pieces... for the and further weight loss (below 1300kg wet) Maybe just maybe Lotus could pull a rabbit from its hat and bring to market a GT460 (3-Eleven race engine spec) they only need to source a gearbox that can take the torque. They only need to be able to build a business case for it.  If the price goes up by 30% then getting an upgraded gearbox able to cope with the torque (525nm) is a no brainer

I suspect the Gte's will be similar weight to a standard evora s, I think Gav Kirkby may have weighed his track car. But the wider track does mean they are more sure footed and don't understeer like the standard car. As for down force then the gt4? Figures may give an idea as I think that's where the wing comes from.

Yes compared to the 410 they now don't look as expensive as they did at the time at 20k? More than a sports racer?

That's only if you live in Englandshire south of Preston. Not if you live in rural Perthshire mate. After a full on day working in the garden rewarded myself with going out for a drive at 1730 last night for 2 hours. Roads deserted and the tarmac all nice and warm. Beautiful.
