  1. Well ive just had the connector in the gearbox replaced and the pins on the loom. I believe they pins took longer than expected and they didnt remove the gear selector that Im aware of but my invoice was just over half of what youre suggesting. They have 8 hours labour against it and thats a main dealer. So they had to drop the valve block and replace the gearbox oil etc so in theory that leaves them 2 days to do the extra beyond that for the selector and speed sensor. Just looking at the parts diagram, my part was no21 the speed sensor is no22. Looking at the article on page 10 of this:- https://gearsmagazine.com/resources/issues/130101000301826000.pdf https://parts.bellandcolvill.co.uk/deroure?qs=1&preview=1&make=1&model=20&groupid=12732 Then it looks like it just bolts/clips onto the valve body asssembley?
  2. I dont know but it will involve presumabley taking the sump off and dropping the valve body assembly, so a gearbox oil change at a minimum. Do i presume you are getting an error code indicating the sensor is faulty? I ask, as a couple of years ago I had some issues which eventually cleared, the code was read and it did relate to one of the gearbox sensors. Fast forward to this year and it was found to have corrosion on the gearbox connector. That needs a new connector for the gearbox side and normally an engine loom. The garage has re-pinned mine, I presume as a bit of an exercise, so its cost a lot less than replacing the engine loom, but dont know if it would actually be viable for them tbh.
  3. I remember watching a program about Gallardo's, there was a company who would remove the old ball joint, cut a thread into the hole and then thread in a complete new ball joint. I suspect this may be a possibilty in the future when wishbones become unobtainable!
  4. Well the GTE's were rebuilt from the end of 2014 onwards so they should be ok too, obviously not. Ive found out the Toyota TCU plugs in the gearbox directly and is bolted to it, lotus have it mounted in the car. It makes me wonder if its more an IP rating issue of the loom plug compared to the Toyota TCU. Heres the state of mine. I think a $hit load of dialectric grease is inorder for when it goes back together.
  5. Started off as likely AC condenser replacement, which then transpired to corroded AC and oil pipes in the sill, then just as that was done the gearbox started playing up. It did it one before a couple of years ago then cleared. It's turned out to be bad corrosion on the gearbox connector. That in itself isn't the end of the world, however the plug on the loom is, the only official remedy is a new engine loom!
  6. @MatB cabin side in the foot well. @Jason Trevor Cheers but when it comes back it will be with a suitably mega size bill! 😬
  7. Mines been in for other works and having this issue. The plug on the gearbox has corroded, this is reasonably priced and straight forward to replace. The socket on the other hand is part of the engine loom and that isn't cheap. They have to pull a few bits to get to it but it's obvious when they do. I'm struggling to find any other options at the moment. Gav
  8. You can pull the wheel, take th wheeel arch iner off, unbolt the oil cooler frame (if you have one) and gentle move it out of the way, then you need to unbolt the tank as its on the side of the tank against the chassis. Also make sure you get the rubber grommets. Dont know how much it is from lotus but as usual its off something random, I want to say either an mg or a blck cab, but cant remember as it was years ago now.
  9. I had exactly that and used some silicone adhesive round the edge of the rubber seal between it and the bulkhead. Silicone sealant will eventually come away hence the use of adhesive.
  10. There is quite a bit of infor but not 100% conclusive on here:- https://www.lotustalk.com/threads/window-regulator.430786/page-2 So seat does look like the closest match so far, if not a straighht swap.
  11. May be an oppertunity for classic lotus to extend their new parts department into not so classic parts!
  12. Is that the one they sold with the GTE angine and spare trim bits on?
  13. Mine failed, it was the wiring going brittle in the link to the boot.
  14. As Bibs suuggested. I leave the boot open but flick the lock so the car thinks it's shut and can be alarmed.
  15. My 54 plate mini cooper catches way more than my Evora!
  16. Just spoke to a paint chap who knows lotus. Apparently I'm wrong it's a standard paint but he did say it can be tricky to match.
  17. It has a tinted lacquer as well so it's not just one colour.
  18. From memory it's B105 or C105 It should be on the vertical part of the foot well behind the front seat under a flap in the carpet

    Evora GTE Registry

Just found another picture that shows a PNM sticker on the wing. I know they normally turn up with an esprit so would make sense its linked to them. Intriguing though.

    Evora GTE Registry

Wasn't there myself but this GTE was at Cars and coffee Liverpool today. Its got the original wheels and one of the prototype bumpers. It's only been mot'd in June this year with only a few hundred miles. So looks like one of the originals. Don't think it's one of the Stratton cars so does anybody know anything about it?
  21. Still looks stunning that car. Would never have sold it if it wasn't for my GTE. The photos of that car at Murrys bewitched me 🤣
  22. Yep add a front carbon splitter to that and you only do it once! Reverse park every time now!
  23. According to an article in the recent EVO Matt Becker says it was from a Honda Accord but with some changed internals.
