I've owned my Esprit for near 4 years now, and I've yet to find the motor. I've popped the hood many times, but all I've ever found is a fuse block, a brake reservoir, an ABS unit, a tool kit, and a spare tire.

Is it under the tire maybe? And I'm still looking for the battery!

TIA

John

Being second is to be the first of the ones who lose.

Maybe we can turn this into a "post a pic of your motor" since the other one is "post a pic of your car" wink.png

I'll go with that, here's mine. Not rebuilt yet, just cleaned and prepared for everyday use;-)

That really made me laugh, as a new owner showing my friends always confuses them (same friends that suggested I check the body very carefully for rust before I bought it).

I did buy some magnets to hold the vinyl sheets in place for when I wrap the car though which makes me equally stupid!

When we did a car show at Alexandra Palace we were required to put drip trays under the cars to prevent oil on the floor.

They came round and checked and asked why the drip trays were under the back and not under the engine!

Travis! I just noticed on your before and after pics. Someone has stolen your gearbox! Have a look yourself. You'll see it's missing on the second pic. Bastards! :police:2guns.gif

All we know is that when they stop making this, we will be properly, properly sad.Jeremy Clarkson on the Esprit.

Yeah, so that's why it won't go anymore!

I found it was very difficult to mount the transmission to the engine when the engine was hanging from the crane, so I put the engine in first and then the transmission. My transmission received a shiny new Quaife too! thumbsup.gif

This is what my engine looks like right now...

Burned through head gasket at #4 on the racetrack.
