New class record at Aintree.  Record previously held by a Porsche 911.  Nice that it's now held by a British sportscar at this historic track, for a little while at least.  Also, thanks to Seriously Lotus who's spring rates and geo settings I stole!

Went to the Stoneleigh kit car show yesterday, as it was free if you bring your car, the only Exige there ( well for the hour I stayed ..)

ahhh ive been looking at the westfields 11/x1  for ages.. i ve wanted one for along time and always hunting out the adds.  but keep putting it off as ive never sat or driven one.. yet..

was it not that interesting? ive often thought of going to one of these kit car shows, ive aleways imagined it woudl be feats for the eyes of good and bad conversions but loads and loads to look over..

I live something like 2 minutes away from the show, so I have been there for 3 years in a row, you always see the same stuff, nothing new, this is my only problem with it .. I might be wrong but I also think the number of cars is decreasing, but might be wrong .. I think they should have a small supercar or classic display, I know it is not the topic of the show, but to attract more people and educate some people to kit car at the same time .. But basically I went knowing what would be there already, that is the problem. (Also the number of lotus and catheram is just too low I think, there are many cars in that area of the country, like many people I took the car for a proper spin for the afternoon, not interested in watching stuff parked! )

I know what you mean about the same cars being there year after year. At our little village fete the organisers always ask the same classic car club to attend. They fill up the bottom end of the green every year with exactly the same cars. The same cars for the last 15 years.

To be honest @andyj007 I still haven't driven one as mine isn't quite finished but once you see it you just can't help but fall in love 🙂

Whats the penalty for that?

My insurance is already sky high so don't want to risk it going up further by getting points or having to declare a fine of some sort

I believe they give you a warning and if you get a couple, or maybe it's 3 the DVLA will take the plate off you.
