Kickass road trip

Tracy has virtually persuaded me to forego our Antigua constitutional for something we used to love doing before we became old and lazy - road trip!  I've visited 26 US states so far, and would like to add considerably more in a single trip, so here's the first draft:

 

 

3000-odd miles in 2 weeks, and adds at least 8 new states to the list (might deviate to a couple more).

 

What I'm after now is any input from any of our across-the-pond cousins (or other knowledgeable types) as to how best to tune this route, and what to visit along the way!  I'm all ears...

My Sister flies direct to/from Raleigh NC when she visits.

If time allows, that gives you a couple extra states before picking up your current start point (if you haven't done them yet).

She might even lend you her MG midget if you're strapped for transport ;-)

Dave, unfortunately it has to be BA, so ATL is best for us.  I do need to tick off NC though!

My mate does it every year and is actually going next week to do 10 states in 3 weeks. yours looks busier as he likes to spend a couple of days in most places (Like Yellowstone park etc). I also think he has a 4x4 as "you never know".

 

I'd start a topic in USA section with a title "Coming to America a little advice please" or something like that. May get more replies than general chat.

Regardless of what they say south of us, our pints here are bigger and usually accompanied by a sizzling portion of a cow.

Quick look at the map shows you not far from 4 Corners, the only bit of the USA that has four states joining. Also, Mesa Verde is worth a visit.
