Remember that bitch-slap I mentioned?

 

Got enough nailed down to start her up.  Turned the key, caught first time, up to temp, no leaks, ran like a charm.  And there was much rejoicing.

 

Turned off, and within a few seconds came the sound of dripping water.  Everywhere.  The engine seems to be pissing coolant across its entire footprint.  I reckon I can see it from HG joint, but Chris is more optimistic.  Anyhow, it's dark, we're knackered, so I've packed up and will have a better look tomorrow.  I'm not overly optimistic, but I can't yet figure out what's up.

It is so soul destroying to get that sort of problem once the thing is built back up. Fingers crossed for an easy fix.

No, chargecooler backfill, disconnected pipe, deviously filling a pool on the inlet, then spilling over and running all around the HG. Just didn't see it in the dark! Well, Chris did, but we were too knackered by then and couldn't believe that it would propagate all the way around the head joint. Chargecooler connected, sorted!

Lots more fettling today during rebuild, so took a Lotus minute to finish. She's on her wheels now after 3 months of 'fun', but I'm too filthy to drive her. Quick shower...
