Yes many (not sure about all) can be disabled if the central screen works - but as Keith says you have to do it every time which is annoying and time consuming.  Not possible on my drive as the software "needed an update".

When I was out on my test drive I too noticed the annoying beeps and chimes especially on the back roads so clearly it’s sensitive to tighter roads compared to motorways. I quickly found them in the settings and switched both speed limit and lane assist off which seemed to stop all the noises. 🤗

I’m an EV owner so use to the performance but to be honest the acceleration for such a big bus is quite alarming despite it only being the base model, very easy to lose your license in this thing. Also it’s quiet, quieter than my current EV and quieter than a Taycan or the new RR Sport. Handling was hard to gauge because when I got my drive it was pouring down but it felt very sure footed and steering is precise though offering no more feel than most modern cars. Ride it also very good at normal and quick speeds though low speed sleeping policemen it’s your typical air suspension which can’t seem to handle these as well as a good tradition suspension.
 

Interior quality is very impressive and very unlike Lotus (sorry guys), the nearest in perceivable quality would be the Range Rover so IMO it’s better than all the other German brands. Sound system is the best I have listen to in quite a while and this is coming from someone who use to be in the industry and knows a quality sound system when he hears it.

Theres a lot of tech to get your head around and no being familiar with the system I can’t comment on how easy it will be to navigate but it definitely is a quick system.

Maybe you get the feeling I was impressed.☺️

Had my test drive today. I won't repeat what @Footie says as I'd just say the same things. This was my first drive in an EV and it blew me away. I would only add that I got to push it in the twisties in sport mode for a short distance and it was astonishing. The way it hunkered down and exhibited virtually no roll it was almost car like. It confirmed my initial view in the first few minutes of the drive that the bulk almost disappears once on the move. And the steering has much more feel than I expected. I forgot I was in a huge SUV. I should mention the HUD. Again a first for me. I was surprised how quickly I adjusted to it and I barely looked at the slim dash.

Interesting discussion on who is buying it (they've handed over 4 this past week or two with plenty ordered) It's a real demographic mix apparently but one thing is notable, folk moving from the Taycan or considering a Taycan. All have gone for the Eletre.

Looks like it's top of my list for next year.

Just completed a long journey today. M25 - M3 down to Winchester. 100 miles each way in non stop rain. Car drove very well, adaptive cruise was excellent despite the non stop downpour. Used 90% of the battery for the whole journey (ie 200 ish miles) which was a bit of a surprise but I guess surface water on the road may have an impact on the range. Despite this, the handling was excellent and I lost count of how many stares I got from other drivers!!

I had an EV for 2.5 years and my conclusion was that the range shown includes the expected regen but on the motorway you're never on the brakes so range was reduced by about a third on these kind of journeys. 

I drove it for a total of 24,000 miles and 8,000 was just from regen. Local/town driving will see the full expected range.

To nip on range expectation, 2 years év owner, got my életre r last week and drove 2k miles with it (mostly motorway). Doing 75-78 mph, you can achieve 200 miles on a full charge (in piss poor weather most of the time) while staying in the comfort zone of battery leftover (around 8-10% at destination). The S plaid did a bit better maybe 230-250 miles in similar conditions, but I find the range prediction of the életre much more realistic then Tesla's. Will be curious to see how it does on normal A/B roads and in spring/summer when it's warmer outside.

 

Overall till now very satisfied.

To add to my range expectations

Started a trip with 314 miles of charge available. I travelled 224 miles (30% A/B roads, 70% motorway @ circa 75MPH - all in Tour mode) and arrived with 78 miles available in the battery, so roughly 302 miles. I'm sitting on 23" wheels and was driving with heating on at 23 degrees, heated steering wheel etc...in other words, not exactly being too eco. I didn't precondition the batteries before departure - left with batteries cold basically.

On my basis, at present, I can be sure to get easily get 275 - 300 miles at this time of year and come more ideal months, I think a baseline figure of 300 miles will be more than possible. For it's size, its looking like a very efficient car. My previous car, a Jaguar I-Pace, at this time of year, I would have been very lucky to see 200 miles on a similar trip in similar conditions.

With SOTA and more data coming in to the software team, it will be interesting to see if they tweak things over the coming months to get even more out of every system.

No and won't be so in the future either. Not sure about UK as it left the EU so you might get a different software which allows this, but any car sold in the EU has to automatically re-enable the annoying warning. I've been told that software update will make it much more convenient to turn it off, but still you will need to turn it off on every single bloody drive. Popped into B&C today. Wow. 

Great to see it bustling with activity looking so sharp and healthy. It was a pleasure to be in.

I think Lotus has nailed it with their first SUV.

Fit and finish better than my current family Volvo XC90 T8 and the test drive exceeded expectations. Beautiful looking in the flesh with so much attention to detail and excellent ride quality. It’s party trick 0-60 is as you’d expect.. FAST! Beyond physics fast.. completely unnecessary fast!! but fun to experience it nonetheless. This car is way cooler than the competition from Porsche, Audi and BMW who must be wondering how much of the market Lotus will take..

It’s definitely a Range Rover rival that I’m sure will do really well and attract new people to the brand. Few of my non motoring friends have commented how lovely they think the new Lotus SUV is in the Mayfair dealership.

Turbulent market conditions for EV at the moment with spiralling insurance and negative press on depreciation worries but hopefully that’ll calm and they do well because they bloody well deserve it! 

Well done Lotus, it’s marvellous..

I popped by Hethel yesterday after taking our daughter to UEA for an interview - they'd not been to the factory before so I was very lucky to be allowed to show them around with Sam. 

I also got a drive in an Eletre. First impressions, lots of power! Very complex car, it would take a good amount of time to get used to and familliar with all the tech, it's top of the class in this respect. Absolutely quick, the acceleration defies what you'd expect especially when already at speed, it's a neck snapper when you floor it and the torque vectoring is very effective at putting the power down. I was very pleased with the ride and handing on a mixture of roads. Compliant on back roads but the car felt tight and sporty in both tour and sport modes. Overall very impressed and it's a hell of a lot of car for the money.

Find that hard to believe, i get the same 314'ish miles on a full charge (what happened to the 378 quoted?) and lucky to get 180 to 200 miles with circa 10% left in the battery - sorry this is also the general range being quoted by owners on the Facebook page - unless you have a special Lotus edition no-one else has?

That is my car, highest bid indicates these will not be holding the values, doesn't help that Lotus are flooding the market with cancelled orders and I have been told actually discounting off list - not good for residuals!

We are also showing a range of 311 miles when fully charged, which I assume will increase to circa 336 miles when battery conditioning is complete. On our first trip down to Southampton (200 miles away) I think we were showing we still had 50+ miles. When we plugged in for a top up.

If it’s almost exclusively motorway driving with no regen braking then losing between 15-20% is to be expected but if there is a reasonable amount of the journey that includes city/town driving this will drop to below 10%.

At least that’s my findings with my i4M50.

So the question is, are they going to port this over to the Eletre?

I've actually switched the HUD off as it's not adding much to my experience that I can't see just 2 inches below it, so this would be a much improved upgrade.

This is Lotus we are talking about....I'm still trying to fathom how they roll their software out, but I'm sure the Asia markets will have it months before the rest of us lol
