I've just renewed with One Answer - the sales director is a Lotus owner and active on S3LOC.  Competitive on my complicated requirements - limited mileage, track days and Class 1 business use.  They've also added agreed value to the policy.

I spoke to CCI, REIS (previously insured my Elan, Elise and Evora until last year) and Manning for quotes too.

I got a great price recently from the forum offer, AIB. (http://www.thelotusforums.com/forums/topic/62312-aib-lotus-insurance-up-to-20-discount-available/)

However, their policy offered 5 track days (which is what I wanted).

My renewal is up with AIB and Darren informs me they are not able to offer any track day cover at all. As a result, I'm now looking around before I decide to renew.

AIB wanted £700 and no track day cover.

Just been to Classic Line insurance and have renewed my Evora for £450. All LoT, LOC, track days are free (no limit) and includes a further 6 track days in the UK from others (as long as they are approved track day providers). European track days are £200 though, but UK and European breakdown cover was I'm sure included. So overall, not too bad.

WTF - I was phoned by Darren personally and he told me in no uncertain ways that they COULD NOT PROVIDE track day insurance. Maybe he'd like to come along and explain wtf is going on, as he would have had my business again, nae bother.

Hello,

Unfortunately we do not offer track day as new business anymore.

Bravo73 is with the only company we have who do track days but they are not open for new business anymore, however they are happy to renew policies that are already with them.

I hope this isn't to much of an inconvenience.

Kind Regards

AIB Insurance

Doing my ringing around at the moment. So far Direct Line proving the most competitive. I tried Classic Line but they wanted nearly twice as much for half the miles and wanted a tracker fitted.

I'll ring CCI tomorrow

CCI will want a tracker fitted as well (I already asked for a 400 quote).
400 vs Evora NA was a very modest uplift in price, but required tracker.

However, if you want to track it, and why wouldn't you.. then CCI/ClassicLine/HendersonTaylor/1Answer will all include track cover.

It's worth paying a little more to use a specialist if they include things like track cover as taking track cover seperately on top of a commerical policy is often more expensive in the long run.

The main reason I wouldn't want to track it is it seems like that voids the warranty on the car. Which would be a shame if it is the case.

Not yet, they are also on my to-call list.

Is there a slightly more official source regarding warranty on track Bibs? I would love to track the car but don't want to chuck 3 years of warranty away for a bit of fun

No. The official line is that I said, you track the car then the warranty is invalid and you'll never see anything other than that in writing. There is however plenty of anecdotal evidence from our members on here that Lotus are very good with the warranty, even if you track the car. They'll not refuse a leaking window repair or dodgy seat runner for example but they will have an issue if you've over-revved the engine if you pick the wrong gear on track. Also, you'd be pushing your luck if you wanted bushes replaced if you'd be tracking the car. Be fair, and they'll be very fair back.
