Still watching this with interest as a CAI is definitely on my 'to do' list.

When you look at that OEM airbox, it's a wonder any air gets through it at all. The molecules must be relying on GPS to find their way to the inlet manifold - if they're using the 505 'Blackbird' system they might never get there!

I've just fitted the BOE CAI on my EVORA NA (just Yesterday actually)

Truly said, I've spent quite a bit of money for the kit: 495$ for the filter, 85$ for shipping to Italy (I guess UK would be roughly the same) and then the import tax from the US (if I remember correctly around 130 euros)

Coming to the positive notes... it really transforms how the car sounds, great great noise; I cannot say, as yet, as for the performance since I've only driven the car in the city and I'm afraid even to reach 4k rpm (don't want to scare any passerby...)

I've the Lotus sport blue tips and Larini 3rd decat tube (OEM manifolds with cats), and the car already sounded great; now, it seems quite a race car (to be honest, it could even be too much for someone's taste); of course, consider that I drive on the left side and I have the intake just behind the ears

As a further info for your consideration, BMC, based here in Italy, sells an iduction kit for the Evora, at about 450-500 euros; I may guess if and when ITG makes its kit, it would ask around that money for it

I don't see an Evora Induction System on the BMC Air Filter website.
When I go to the systems and put in Lotus Evora, all I get is a flat replacement filter.

I would be interested in an ITG Intake System for my NA Evora, IF the induction noise was not excessive, and the A/F Ratio was not problematic.

I guess you are right, they seem to have removed it from the website. I assure you there was one, though, specific for the evora..

You may still find it on the eBay,  see e.g.

http://www.ebay.it/itm/FILTRO-ARIA-BMC-CDA-LOTUS-EVORA-3-5-V6-CDASP-55-/13113485500

In any case, at the end, I opted for the boe; at least in my car, the induction sound is quite loud (I like it, but I guess it may be a problem for some). I plan to check the AFR together with a re-map in the very near future

Ok, fitted the BOE cai, just went for a quick drive and to sum it up "Amazing" I would highly recommend this's mod it compliments the new 2ubular exhaust I fitted last week. It sounds like a Ferrari or Maserati with a very crisp note and when pulling away you get the full effect with air intake loud woosh and exhaust note.

Also the car does feel quicker, it would be good to get a dyno just to see!!!!

Old oem airbox was a pita to remove as we done it all from the top. Install was straight forward but I think there should be a better fit like an elbow where the cars vent joins the boe flexi tube.

Well worth having this mod as I'm sure anyone else who has it would agree.

Frustratingly ITG are looking for commitment from suppliers rather than owners!!

Quote

Hi Lee

Sorry for the delay in responding.

There hasn't been any further progress with the kit yet.  We have spoke to several of our Lotus distributors who have not shown an interest in a kit at the moment. Due to the development costs involved I need to get some commitment of numbers from distributors before I progress this further.

I will speak to them again in the new year to see if anything has changed.

Best regards,

Paul Wyhinny
Development Engineer

so we need to badger some suppliers, Elise Shop ( @YvoTuk?), Seriously Lotus ( @Seriouslylotus?) to get them on board.

A bit of a pathetic response when you already have around 15 people interested. In these days of the interweb and paypal I thought they'd be chompibg at the bit to make some easy money.

Hopefully one of the distributors/retailers will step up as more Evoras are being "fettled" as they age gracefully.

I know of one new thing I have cash in the bank waiting for when it is announced and I think it will be a real success too. Just can't share any details yet.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

When do you anticipate this "New Thing" will be announced or released ?

Is it a performance item for an NA Evora ?

The "New Thing" seems to be a dead end.

I have email corresponded with the manufacturer back and forth, and they are not moving forward with the project at this time.

Only with C8RKH's permission, will I reveal the details of the "New Thing" .

With Andy's approval, I'll give the details. It's for an NA Evora, and potentially gives a 50 HP increase  !

Maybe with enough input from forum members, the manufacturer(s) will reconsider continuing the project.

+50 BHP!!!!!

That'll do nicely - in fact, more than nicely. BIG WANT - NOW!!!

Tell us who the manufacturer is and we'll blockade their factory. Nobody gets to leave the building until they come up with the goods.
