RIP Roger Becker

Roger always made time to visit the OC Lotus group when in California, and we had some very fun events with him over the years.  I'll always remember asking him to autograph my Esprit; he looked in, saw Russell Carr had already signed, turned to me with a serious look and said "I see Russell already vandalized your car"!  Truly tragic news, we've lost a legend and a gentlemen.  RIP Roger ...

It speaks volumes about the man and his creations (and their fans) that a chassis engineer would be so recognizable and so mourned. It'll be sad news to the Golden Gate Lotus Club on this Saturday. Most of us would have heard about it yesterday, but on Friday we had a track day at Laguna Seca.

 

Just the way he would have wanted it, you'd have to figure.

Very sad to hear this. I was very lucky to have sat next to him at dinner after attending a driving course at Hethel in 2007. Fascinating to listen to him. 

Sincere condolences to all his family. Thank you Roger and rest in peace.

I wonder if Lotus will do a special edtion Evora etc to mark the sad passing of this gifted man. Would be nice to see personally as a mark of respect.

I would like to personally thank all of you for your kind words about my father, dad was a very special, talented man and a great father. He taught me and gave me my career which I will forever be greatful for. There are so many other great dynamics engineers throughout the auto industry who he also taught and as a consequence many of the cars we all drive are because of what dad did. Thank you again for your kind words.
