Anyone know this S4 please

Since selling my S4S to funds my sons house purchase, I've been iytching to come back to the Esprit fold. Just spotted this car on eBay and it seems too good to be true. It has several S4S items of bodywork - rear spoiler and I think wheel arch extensions and the end of line rear lights which I hate and the dash looks black - was it on the S4 - it was wood on my S4S?.

As usual all help and advice appreciated - does anyone live in Cardiff and would be prepared to go and have a shufti as I cant get down there before the auction ends.

I went to have a look at this one when it was at a dealer in Yorkshire earlier this year. I'd seen it for sale in Lowestoft but wasn't quick enough to catch it. The dealer had it up for about £25k originally, which I thought was a hell of a profit knowing what it originally went for. I waited a while until he brought the price down to £22500 and went to have a look at it. Mechanically, he said the idle valve had just been replaced as it was running lumpy, there was a smell of petrol in the cabin, and a specialist inspection report had identified that the radiator was 'tired' and the rear suspension was corroded. Cosmetically, there wasn't a body panel that wasn't chipped, scuffed or scratched, the wheel arch extensions were rough as hell, there were marks on the tailgate where the filler from moving the original spoiler showed through, the instrument binnacle had screws hanging out of it, the driver side door switch set was missing, the aerial was missing, the seals around the windows were perished and the lip on the front spoiler was hanging off. I didn't even bother to test drive it. I don't know how much of this has been attended to since though...

It's just an auction, so the "price" we see now is not the final price. Obvious of course, but it may reach a hundred thousand pounds before tomorrow. It's not just because it's a low price now that it will be a bargain. Don't let the current highest bid influence you too much.
