Ok, sort of south west then. There used to be a dealer in South Wales, but they closed suddenly about a year ago. That makes Bristol your closest dealer, and we do have a couple of lotus specialists in Devon.

Well I hope you enjoy it whenever you are able to pick it up. Is it your first Lotus.

Did you get down to have a test drive of the yellow one. Any Lotus is a special car, my current one is my 10th. Later lotus models have become more reliable and are not too pricey for servicing when compared to other sports cars.

Sounds similar, I had never driven any lotus before I drove my first one back home from a dealer in London. I did not even drive on the 'test' drive.

Are you coming down to pick the car up or having it delivered.

I'm driving a car down to part exchange.

Congrats on the purchase - looked like an absolutely lovely example!

Given you were asking about the reasons why that car was worth the money (which is absolutely was) can I ask what your reasons were for plumping for that one over a 400, or an earlier S1?

Mainly I wanted to hear the opinion of more informed people than myself,

Reason for buying it?

I'd previously looked at a local 400 and probably due to the colour combination (black on black, yellow calipers, tan interior), for a £56'000 car I wasn't blown away by it, after allowing myself to think about it I decided to set myself a budget around £40k for an S1 and rule out the 400's starting at £50k (or £53k for equivalent mileage), then the yellow one popped up and instantly ticked every box that was important to me,

Latest model year

Nice low milage

All the packs

Stand out colour

Being a "sports racer" was a bonus,

Yes it was £7'000 over my self imposed budget, but that was always going to happen 😅

Congratulations on the purchase, welcome to the Sports Racer club. Once you collect you’ll need to add a picture to this thread

Lovely. Congratulations. Bright yellow Evora's really are a joy to see. And that's a peach (I didn't want to say "Lemon"  :) )

God doesn't want me, and the Devil isn't finished with me yet.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Is this your old one?

Nope - @windymiller is the current custodian of said beast. Once he’s fed up with having to pay for a replacement clutch - I’ll be in like a vulture to buy it back.

Only here once
