Hi @Mak44 - The front approach angle is 8 degrees, the rear approach angle is 13 degrees and ground clearance is 140mm. The approach angle is the angle from the bottom of the tyre to the bottom of the bodywork.

Did you know it's chargecooled too, track monster

Dammit, that’s not going to work, even with ramps, the front angle is just too tight. I’ll have to reconsider, or store under a cover outside, which I really didn’t want to do....

Thanks for the reply. 👍

Ooops I never gave it a thought that the Cup 250 may have a different ground clearance to my (now) sadly sold Exige S2. Got any figures for the S2 for comparison?

Nearly there

I had it weighed yesterday.

913kg with a full tank of fuel. I think thats pretty good. I think the HT is about 7 or 8, so it will be running at under 900Kg as the fuel runs down.

unfortunately you have to add in 80kg of me...

The looks great Steve.

Did the cup come with front ppf fitted?

No ppf whatsoever as standard, not even in front of the rear arches. Cup car = Less is more 😎

Looks lovely! I really like the silver wing supports, complements the silver wheels nicely 👍

That was the intention. I nearly went for gold wheels and uprights but felt that was a bit too bling

😥      However red and silver is always a great combination, and silver wheels though a bitch to keep clean really show the design lines better.

Did anyone see the Autocar review in 2016 and know why there figures for the car were so worse than the quoted figures; can’t understand why Autocar struggled so much as it infers the figures were obtained under lotus supervision

Whoops forgot copy

It may not come as a surprise that we failed to match Lotus’s official acceleration claim of 3.9sec to 60mph, but the margin by which we missed it does throw this car’s status as the shining performance starlet of Elise history into some doubt.

Our fastest one-way run was 4.6sec to 60mph – on a bone-dry surface, after plenty of practice, with oversight from the manufacturer and with very little wheelspin troubling the sticky 225-section A048 rear tyres.

That 100mph comes up in just under 12 seconds

Akajak, Autocar always carry out their performance tests with two passengers and a half tank of fuel. You can bet that Lotus and other relevant manufacturers use the single lightest driver around - possibly denied food for 12 hours prior- and an egg cup full of fuel. For a real lightweight car that difference matters. The manufacturer's test car will have been honed to perfection of course, beyond that of the press fleet, and have a engine thoroughly loosened up equivalent to  10 or 20 K miles. Way back on here I once did the sums relating torque in the main power band and weight, with results that came close to illustrating a disparity quite closely. Can't recall the car in question but a lightweight where performance mattered.

Also recently, perhaps on here somewhere, I read of an owner who persuaded someone who carried out manufacturer tests to demonstrate how the claimed acceleration was obtained, on his own car. The tester was reluctant. Are you really sure,  he asked. But the owner insisted and it was done. The owner's face turned white with shock. The technique could fairly be described as gross abuse!

thanks for the insight, cross referencing as well to the post on the 430 cup exige which also didn't match the 3.2 figure quoted by Lotus.

seems some manufacturers are playing the game others more honest'.Porsche used to be quite conservative with their figures

Indeed games can be played. Fair enough to have the lightest possible configuration/options and tyres at the maximum safe pressure and ideal temperature but, if anyone was counting tenths, having a decently strong wind blowing in the most helpful direction would do no harm!
