  1. If that’s true, then at least he has a good opportunity with Merc. He’s too talented to drop down to he back of the grid.
  2. Connect a mechanical gauge up to determine the oil pressure across the range. If it’s within tolerances, then perhaps the low oil pressure switch is faulty.
  3. It’s certainly possible to fit a double DIN head unit. You will need to move the heater control panel, and you lose the cubby hole. But it’s a reversible job, and you can then get one with the fold out screen. If you do some Internet legwork, you will find some of the conversions people have done.
  4. The furnaces (and probably the plant)are going to close regardless because no business can continually run at a loss. The union should be negotiating the absolute best severance package it can for its members, but instead it has failed to see the writing on the wall, or if it has, it duly ignored it.
  5. “Get yer trousers on, you’re nicked!”
  6. There’s something in the service notes about the oil pressure warning lamp. I have a feeling it only operates above a certain rpm, to stop owners getting windy about low pressure. Probably a relay in there. So, have a look at your service notes first. Oh, and replace that hose clip that’s about to fail due rusting through. Easier to do it in the garage than at the side of the road at 2am in the pissing rain.
  7. As it happens, booking.com just sent me this recommendation for an excursion -
  8. I am, for various reasons, currently sat in a hotel bar in Adelaide, Australia. Outside, most of the city roads are more congested than the M25 on a good day, and the city has expanded hugely. Vast shopping malls mirroring those in the US, and fast food joints, abound. The last time I was here, if there were 6 cars in front of them, the Aussies were moaning like hell about “the traffic jam”. Well, they’ve really got something to moan about now. Overpopulation is what’s going to kill us.
  9. A mate of mine thought Mount Gay was an instruction.
  10. No DM as yet, Chris. Its all S4s spec.
  11. Hi Filip, I only have springs and dampers to offer assuming they’re suitable in the first place. Ian.
  12. Do you need springs and dampers?
  13. Carbon negative? Delivered by an EV?
  14. From personal experience of working alongside him, when Sparky talks Esprits, I guarantee he knows exactly what he’s talking about, and the best course of action to avoid any expensive issues is to listen to what he’s saying.
  15. I can’t make it. Bibs - is it still run by the same guys we visited on the farm a couple of years back?

Don’t let the tree-huggers see that.
  17. Regarding projects, an old colleague of mine used to say you need time, money, and enthusiasm all to coincide, or you might as well just go down the pub.
  18. This thread really has no conclusion. It’s like being asked to choose between Kate Beckinsale, Jennifer Lawrence and Scarlett Johansson.
  19. How times change. Not that long ago everyone would assume sourdough was mouldy bread, and avocado was simply the colour of a bathroom suite.
  20. I’ll never buy an EV for precisely the same reasons. Has anyone else noticed the plethora or EV ads on telly? Almost without exception, they portray a bunch of smiling, laughing, happy-go-lucky, carefree occupants (who look like they spend half their lives in a gym, and eat quinoa), driving around in the middle of nowhere. This is presumably an attempt to persuade all us doubters that it’ll all be fine and dandy, and charging points are of course numerous in the wild blue yonder, so no worries, drive your EV anywhere. Utter nonsense. I also noticed that in the vast majority of the adverts, they show the EV being either being plugged in, or having the charging plug removed. Why do that? Beats me.
  21. And presumably no recollection of the oil pressure gauge debacle, either?
  22. Isn’t it the case that GP surgeries are a independent, that they’re contracted to the NHS for a fee?
