  1. ES Motorsports might have the secondhand parts. They part out (or convert) lots of Exiges.
  2. I’ve already told you - it is for licensing purposes. It is easier (and cheaper) to get, then maintain, a US/FAA flying licence. N reg aircraft have to be owned by an American entity. Hence the use of US based trusts. The actual owner(s) will be based in Germany. Anyway, do all of these posts about owning and operating N reg aircraft require a thread of their own? 🤔
  3. I dunno. I presume that there are plenty of FAA approved MROs in Europe. I have never owned an N reg aircraft. Or, any aircraft for that matter! I just drive ‘em. 😉
  4. It is normally for licensing reasons, rather than tax reasons. It is less onerous to get (and maintain) a licence under the FAA system (rather than the EASA or CAA systems).
  5. Where ACBC was conceived? 🤷‍♂️

    Of course, it is.
  7. Is the car on summer, winter or all-season tyres?
  8. @GRP is the person to contact about this.
  9. I am also a ‘yes’. ☺️ (Although the design obviously won’t mean anything to Joe Public. You’ve got to be a reasonable Lotus 🤓 to know about the Gold Leaf colours).

ISTR that this testing was only carried out after they had started losing Comets in flight. This testing showed that the square windows of Comet 1 were the weak point - the sharp corners were failing after a number of altitude cycles. Hence the round/oval windows on Comet 2 (and all subsequent airliners).
  12. Maybe the owner just decided to part the car out (especially if they are a parts business)? Most cars are worth more in parts than whole.

Agreed. Windscreen supports look like a Victor. 🤓
  14. I’m not sure if they are. I’ve got a feeling that they were OEM seats which were made for a special edition (for a particular market). However, the special edition never ended up being made. So the seats were then sold via one of the ‘usual’ UK outlets/resellers. So, I’m guessing that the seats aren’t original to the car but still technically OEM.
  15. I don’t know who you are quoting but that doesn’t apply to the UK. Here are the actual guidelines/law (ie direct from the Highway Code): ”Using devices hands-free You can use devices with hands-free access, as long as you do not hold them at any time during usage. Hands-free access means using, for example: a Bluetooth headset voice command a dashboard holder or mat a windscreen mount a built-in sat nav” (My bold). Woah. She's a looker. 🤢
  17. FYI, you are allowed to touch a mobile device whilst driving. As long as it is secured in a cradle.
  18. If the ‘box is coming apart, you might as well get one fitted (I would). Otherwise, like you said, getting one installed later would require everything to come out again (🤑).
