  1. I've been uploading some videos of the Esprit renovation and reached over 50 Subscribers this week. In celebration I uploaded a compilation video of the progress up until now.

  3. @Fridge I believe you, I had new fuel pump, fuel filter, Distributor cap, Distributor Arm, Pickup, And carb rebuild kit, plugs and leads all from SJ fitted last year. I must add they were not fitted by myself but Barry Ely in Maldon. I've not checked timing, mixture or the carbs balance but assume it was all done. I will check it at some point over the summer but iits been like that forever and in in the past I was very much on top of maintenance and regular care. I was lead to believe and bought into the suggestion its due to fuel evaporation from the chambers. Its not that its doesn't start just takes 5'ish cranks cycles and a couple of throttle blips.
  4. I've done the same, in fact more than once over the 20+ years ownership. Car still doesnt like cold start or re start after a break and hot run. Always has required a little more crank and fuel blip. The current E fuels dont help either in my experience. I needed to use some E10 last year and the car was poor to start and run until I had topped up a couple of time with E5.
  5. @Suddabym I assume the tiger print panties on the headrests were an addition from the production company.
  6. Nice eye candy, shame the woman keeps getting in the way.
  7. @tomcattom it's a custom paint but in essence Lotus Racing Green with with two coats of a measured gram amount of Alchemist colour shift from perfect pigments and pearls. The paint work was completed around 3 month ago with body assembled 6 weeks. Took me 5 weeks to refit intererior. Actually going back to the body shop next week for final paint correction, polishing and ceramic coating. The paint needed time to cure.
  8. After the rain a chance to stretch the rubber in the evening sun.

  10. I'll be a maybe with a +1. There is a possibility my Sons Prom could be that day. Also note the Lotus heritage BBQ is on the Sunday although I've not committed to that for the same reason.
  11. Yes although I don't have concern about breaking them as they are now far more solid than before but more scratching the paint.
  12. A chance to spend some time on the car over Easter and we are drivable again. Centre console completed including lighting buttons and Gear stick gaiters. Rear of doors painted. Drivers window frame adjusted. Added 3mm sound proofing to centre door skin. Damp weather shield added to doors. Door buttons cleaned and fitted with new cigarette lighters. Door cards installed. All internal lighting completed. Glove box lid recovered. Glovebox installed. Binnacle fully installed. Seat buckle button repaired. Seat belts fully installed. Seats installed. Wheel re fitted. Wheel centre badge re fitted. Bright LED's fitted to door indicators. I aimed these down. This still gave plenty of light through the red lens and also provided the opportunity for puddle lighting through the drainage holes in the door. I actually added another drain hole to fore this as an added feature. ( for some reason when I see it I hear the ' This is the voice of the Mysterons' in my head). shakedown run. Still have slight leak from water pump but not while engine at temp or really once off and cooled down. Seem to have issues causing difficulties with gear selection. Issues with hot cold and vent selection
  13. I did get a set from Lotus Bits, TBH they were in worse state than mine excluding the holes in. I could swap the buttons only however because of that I thought I might as well try the epoxy and painting.
  14. Another month, another update Jobs are actually being completed and on the home straight. Under Glow lighting fully installed with center console switch (Still need to tidy up wires and controller behind Glove box). New sound deadening installed. Carpets installed. Headlining completed. DAB and FM Ariel installed. Stereo , Amp and speakers installed. Interior lighting is mostly completed, Mounting foot well and tunnel optics outstanding. Interior lighting and FAN switch mounted on center console. Glove box re covered. Door Card ash trays re covered Investigation into leaks from water pump still on going. Need to address drivers windows frame alignment as it seems to be preventing door from closing correctly. Now need to fix issue with hole in passenger belt buckle after dropping plyers on them last night.
  15. I like the pragmatic approach although wouldn't consider it a longer term resolution, epoxy and painted could be a good alternative, just more time..
