  1. Reading on McLaren forums they too have problems with headlights, not the lacquer coming off but with condensation inside the unit. Lots of comments about McLaren not willing to replace units outside (& sometimes inside) warranty period.
  2. Brilliant day, thanks to Bibs & all at Lotus Cars for organising a superb 70th celebration. 👍
  3. So in that case what has got to do with the EU, couldn't UK & Eire just stick to the current agreement & have an open border.
  4. Been checking this route out, looks like a nicer drive than plodding around the M4/M25/M11 route. Timewise not much in it either, so most likely will be going that way too.
  5. Is that another Geoff? I don't think I said that. I think whichever way you go it will be busy on a Friday afternoon.
  6. Blimey, where have you been with that Evora, the North Sea?
  7. Hi Neil, if you do go to Lotus Silverstone, they have my old green NA for sale that I traded in a few weeks ago (for a 400), been a good reliable car for the 3 years I owned it. A little over your budget but try haggling if you like the colour of course.
  8. It maybe the reg document says 'S', my old NA was called 'Evora V6 S' on the reg document I seem to recall.
  9. Was interesting that JD Classics & their driver Chris Ward were totally absent from Goodwood Revival at the weekend. JD Classics have previously been one of the sponsors of the event & regular competitors.
  10. Thanks guys, I was drawn to it as it is an unusual colour, Aimee said she had not seen another one that colour although I have seen a piccy of a Dutch registered one in the same green. Yes Neal it is apparently Empire Green. No pictures of the interior yet, will get some soon, it has red interior which I was a bit dubious about until I saw it, actually I think it complements the green very well. Not sure it was a demo car, it is nearly 3 years old & originally came from JCT600 & all the service stamps are from there, so guess it has spent most of its life up north. Compared to the NA, unsurprisingly it feels very similar just with more power, particularly in the mid-range which should make quick overtakes a little easier. Gear change is improved, more positive with a shorter throw & has a more mechanical feel. Steering & handling feel very similar, you would probably need to take it on a track to feel any difference. Interior finish is much better although the Sparco seats are not quite as comfy as the NA's Recaros & you seem to sit a little higher in the car. As has been said before, access is much easier (particularly for us old fellas) with the lower narrower sills & there is more room in the footwells. Switches & buttons are easier to access, you can actually see them now, not hidden behind the steering wheel. So basically the same only better! Oh yeh, & that lovely exhaust noise, NA was too quiet.
  11. Having owned my Evora S1 NA for 3 years & recently retired, I thought I would treat myself to a belated retirement present & traded it in for an Evora 400. Picked this one up from Lotus Silverstone at the weekend.
  12. 1pm would suit me fine, don't want to be too late getting around the M25 on a Friday afternoon.
  13. Ticket ordered about 12.15, still not recieved a confirmation e-mail though!
  14. I have owned my NA Evora for 3 years & my wife has had an ND MX5 for 18 months now. Problems encountered: Evora - replaced squeaky rear suspension bush, replaced tailgate struts, replaced one leaking TPMS tyre valve unit & replaced failed side indicator repeater. Otherwise just general servicing & new front brake pads. MX5 - only problem has been the tyre pressure warning light coming on a couple of times on long journeys for no reason. So basically nothing too much to worry about on an 8 year old Evora. Only major problem I have heard about on the MX5 is 2nd gear failing on cars that are raced or driven really hard all the time. When would I rather be in the MX5? On a warm summer evening with the roof down when the wife is driving us to the pub!
  15. Yeh, that was probably me. No Redwing, it isn't a GTE, just a Motorsport Green NA with the yellow stripes added. I guess it was you I chatted to at Silverstone Edward.
  16. I've had 3 green cars, an Alfasud Sprint (similar colour to the MeV above), a 1.8 Mondeo (officially Caymen Blue) & my current Evora.
  17. If you include race cars the 30 & the 40 both used the 4727cc Ford V8.
  18. Worth noting that if you are buying an emissions pass for German towns & cities, the pass is valid for all. However not all places charge the same price, when I got one last year Berlin was the cheapest I found.
  19. Been away for a few days, but mine was on the doormat when I returned home today. 😁
  20. In that case you thought you were important but then had second thoughts & decided that you were not.
  21. In my opinion, anyone who has a Twitter account is too full of their own self-importance!
