Having ordered from BOE post brexit it’s an expensive process and you have to factor in time & extra cost? I assume in my limited knowledge is there no place in UK we can get these items ?

Lotus factory tours - are back...
Cdm2018 replied to exeterjeep's topic in Lotus / Motoring / Cars Chat
I did the factory tour this week (Monday) and I must say it was a lovely informative experience. I was given tour by Nick and as I was only person I got one to one which was privilege. I met and chatted with a few staff who worked at Hethel for many years and so commented on how my Evora was made and it now compares with modern day techniques. if anyone on this forum not undertaken a tour I recommend it to understand the process put in by lotus -
an Emira ev turns up is it not this Type 135 which will be more you will be looking at ?

I think you also need to consider the rarity factor? my mate works at Porsche and I hear him talking about selling cars per week maybe most are non petrol but sheer number of Porsches you see on road was a buying factor for me!

Well the car threw up a load of codes and limp mode so after my AA man had a look best thing was to send to lotus garage ! 😥

I paid £500 for pair drilled discs and general pads and about £250 fitting at my lotus garage and about to do the same later this month if you opt to go with higher spec type then yes £800-1300 be about right I guess I purchased from Elise parts but have gone with lotus supplied items I think we get discount and don’t have to pay the extra delivery charges -

Where do these low mileage cars live ? I know my 5-6k annual mileage is not mega but I drive it every week at least once ? It’s a nice tidy state it looks a 2+0 but still a nice buy for new owner ? -

New Evora headlights
Cdm2018 replied to TrevS's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC/Other
Not sure if there is any refurb on the inside of the unit as they sealed ? I rang these people who advertise on eBay but went with a local guy who did it for half the cost. I think I posted a picture of the before and after of the headlight -
Yes I stupidly cleared the code but took a picture and sent it before they looked at it I assume they tested the sensor as they told me they checked everything and it all seemed fine ? I was worried that I shouldn’t be driving as Jonnys extract indicates a serious fault but car seems ok but I noticed the revs were limited when I tried to give it some beans ?

New Evora headlights
Cdm2018 replied to TrevS's topic in Interior/Exterior/Lights/Glass/Alarms/ICE/HVAC/Other
I recall headlights on sale of eBay from lotus parts sellers ? I had the glazing effect so much that my lotus garage told me it could effect my MOT ? so I got a guy to polish the outside part made a big difference but some marks inside the lens are still there and I can’t do anything as it’s sealed unit -

My Evora got that paint bubbling the feedback is as I not covered it and it sits outside the bubbling could been worse but I guess erosion factor in metal will always be occurring. I try and use my at least once a week but as Jep mentioned you need to factor a £1-2k a year running costs a price worth paying 😀 -
Ah it back this afternoon same code 🫣 I parked at school and got OBD reader out checked same as before car sounds as when first reported lotus said not found I cleared code and see what happens ?
-
I had my Evora at Central yesterday as they checked a ghost code didn’t charge for the hour they sorted it but then the car is booked next month for £1k work so it balance out I suppose ?
-
Just back from my lotus garage , the guys had the laptop on and couldn’t find the code (next time I won’t delete it) they checked the banks all running correctly they found the touch rich running was a maybe due to induction kit but they said it’s not an issue. anyway they kindly didn’t charge me and I went on my way 😀

Proper cold air intake for a reasonable price

Dam ! I would have saved myself £400 😱 -
Ok I have booked my car back into lotus to check so annoyed hopefully it’s not going to be more than £100 last month ?
-
I had my car at lotus about 7-8 weeks ago as I kept getting engine code then limp mode this week I got this code but car drives ok no limp mode but it’s does sound like i have a teenager exhaust system which for me i do notice the change in engine tone. i cleared the code but am I needing to go back to my lotus garage ? I have driven the car as I been on a couple of runs with MLOC recently so had to get the red rings on occasions to keep up the pace with others in group.

Faded paint work DIY or Pro ?
Cdm2018 replied to Cdm2018's topic in Detailing - Sponsored by ValetPro
I considered this maybe a wrap ? My roof got wrap already as it masks some paint imperfections ? Nice call 👍🏻 if I used stickers/decals they would be fairly large to cover the area of the spoiler ? Any suggestions ? -

Thanks Greg I think it sounds a Pro job if it’s spoiler I guess this can be removed and treated (baked etc) then replaced back but I wonder if it will so shiny and out of place from rest of the car body ? -
