  1. Just come across this thread - amazing bit of Lotus history that and lovely to see it being used and enjoyed πŸ™‚
  2. Seems pretty fairly priced to me. If you're in no rush to sell, keep the price where it's at and wait, but I would put it on AT or PH to get it more out there. I'm a little tempted myself but in the current climate I can't justify spending out on another car at all, besides, I would need to sell my Elise to do that, and I think I'd struggle to sell that at the moment as well. What I would do with your ad is update it with some interior pictures. Absolutely great car though - keep enjoying it while you have it πŸ™‚
  3. Apparently LG TVs use more leccy than Samsung ones.
  4. Taking your post in isolation, I would offer up the following advice: Speak with your wife first so that you can explain these costs are excessive, then you can both agree that the costs are way too high, and that as a family, you have some bad energy usage habits that have to change. Then list out a plan of change which would be to It sounds like both your sons work, you could put up their rent, or more specifically, have them pay a % of the energy costs each month, that way, they can bring their cost down by improving their own habits. You can increase the % they pay if necessary as the months roll on. My own son is autistic, but but right at the bottom of the spectrums ladder as it were; the main tool I have is two-fold: 1) Be as logical as I can be when explaining what I need him to do and why and 2) I build up the rules / changes one a time so as not to overwhelm him or have too much change at once. You are certainly not "making a fuss over a little bit of money"; I would counter that by explaining that you have a legitimate worry and concern over your family homes running costs and these are actionable, with support. I genuinely think we're about to head in to some very tough times for a protracted period and those that can adapt will make best of the situation.
  5. There was some sort of falling out with JayEmm and Lotus while he had his Evora and he’s been pretty salty about it ever since, he generally makes good videos though and is worth watching in my opinion but does occasionally come across as a bit of a Diva. great job @AK70 - If I’d have been able to keep hold of my Evora it would be worth quite a bit more than I paid for it too! It’s current owner is quids in that’s for sure!
  6. I would expect it is protection against competitor cars also in development or starting development who will be able to ensure they are equal or better the luggage space. If they are targeting class leading dimensions, I'd stay tight lipped too.
  7. Around 11:00 driving past Botley - we were in the Silver Elise coming the other way. Lots of smiles and waving all round!
  8. None of this applies to me, however I do feel how annoying and frustrating this all is. If I were Lotus, I would be going out of my way to appease each and every delayed delivery of the V6's. Some free fuel would be a good start for example. I still can't believe the comms coming out of Lotus is so poor, they must know and see the general consensus of this across the forums?
  9. Breaking news: EU to halt climate change by mandating safety cut off switch on all women sex toys
  10. It will be the car and the hot tub I would think to be the major contributors. Perhaps the aircon depending on how efficient that is - last months elec bill for me was Β£114 and we have A/C in 5 bedrooms. Generally I have one on throughout the day when working and I'm seeing very little consumption from them to be honest when set to auto it just tickles the room to maintain the temp. I set temp to 22 or 23 which is plenty comfortable to work in, don't need an ice cold room (as lovely as that is sometimes!) We also have two fridges and two freezers and they don't seem too bad either. My fixed rate ends in November and as mentioned above we have also stopped discretionary spending at the moment to be cautious even though we have a little cushion built up from our direct debit payments. I'm expecting expecting our bills to double. It's actually water we're using a lot of (7 of us in the house mind!) - that's about Β£50 p/m!!
  11. No, that would be @Rambo burning 3T of wood and Kerosene oil for one house hold πŸ˜‰ 🀣

Otmar Szafnauer comments are quite right really, however I guess the problem is how was Piastri able to go and sign another contract (with McLaren) in the first place? It might suggest that Alpines young driver program / contract was not clear enough and therefore allowed flexibility for him to go sign another one. Of course, maybe Piastri really doesn't care about that sort of thing, I hope not, as IMO I don't think that is a great way to enter F1 at all; whose going to trust him and what does that say about his sportsmanship?
  13. Wow - what is your standing charge and unit rate if you don't mind me asking? That sounds like an awful lot to me, but then you might be using a lot of electricity to account for that! I think last month by elec was Β£114 (25.44kWh and 23.03 standing charge)
  14. I have an early S2 which I got after selling the Evora. I certainly do miss the V6 howl of my Evora (which had a non-valved 2bular exhaust on it too!) Big differences which I note: The Elise is much more fun to drive at any speed which is a big plus for me The Elise is as exhausting to drive as it is exhilarating to drive. I've put some additional sound deadening in (light weight I might add) to make it more usable (read bearable) for longer jaunts The brakes on the Evora were mighty, the Elises are good but I don't have as much confidence on them as I did in the Evora I would say the Evora is the more capable car dynamically - at least on the road anyway, it was more pliant to the road, the Elise can be quite uncomfortable / brittle in built up areas and its lack of refinement sticks out a bit. I've not driven as S3 on the road to know if this side has improved The Elise is waaaay better on fuel economy which is a welcome plus at this point in time As a weekend fun car, the Elise does it for me over the Evora which didn't get used as much as I wanted - mostly the children didn't particularly enjoy sitting in the back so while the Elise gets used even less at times since its a strict two seater and I can only take one of them at a time in it, all the children really love going in it when they get the chance, especially with the roof off. I'm finding I'm far more comfortable tinkering with the Elise than I was with the Evora, I love its simplicity. I've got some plans to retrim the Elise over the winter, fit an induction kit and if I can squirrel the funds away fit some GRP V3 lights and possibly change the rear dampers as they may be getting worn - its 20 years old now after all, though mileage is pretty low at ~57k @electro_boy- if you're ever in the Southampton area, your welcome to try mine out! Speaking of wandering thoughts, I found myself considering a complete swap to the new Civic Type R - it looks like a cracking car and lots of fun!
  15. Some interesting points on the subtly different geo setups depending on the tyre choice.

  17. I tend to drive slowly past interesting cars to get a better look and give an occasional thumbs up to the driver!
  18. I read that article and thought much the same including the fact that the mum should be damn well asking for her money back - assuming it was given to her on a lone basis. Unfortunately my brother has a similar problem; and it is a problem, an addiction to spending and of wanting what you don't have. A couple of years back, I had to bail my brother out of some serious debt to avoid him loosing his house and it meant selling the Evora to do it. It came with some very strict criteria I can tell you, he's managed to repay a good chunk of that debt to date and he absolutely knows he owes me the rest once has cleared his CCJ / repayment plan which will last 7 years and which takes every spare penny you have, which is a good thing. He now has to rigidly budget and I can see the difference its made. His outlook previously was to spend what he had, which wasn't a great deal to begin with, partly because he could see other people with these things and he wanted in and partly because he didn't have the patience to save but mostly he never stopped to think if he actually wanted it (or needed it) - it was just impulsive. Now he comes to me when he's both just browsing stuff and thinking about buying something (which he can't) to talk through why he was wanting it in the first place. It kind of helped that I sold the Evora because he knew that was an awfully big give from me - my first sports car. Well, that, and I keep reminding him that I did not sell it for him to f*** up all over again. Anyway point, I'm making is spending can be an addiction - the left over bits are seen as treat money and after a while the treats are seen as essential.
  19. Not sure what time I'll get there yet; suspect it will be after 10:00 for me by the time I've sorted children out!
  20. Fabulous car that; you should see some reasonable offers on it. I do wonder if the black wheels may hinder it slightly, the original look is far better IMHO although I'd prefer completely silver wheels myself. Do you know if the auto box has had any firmware updates at all?
