  1. 3) replacing the alternator. This is a very easy job made extremely difficult by the size and location of the engine. Thank god they put the panel in the cabin bulkhead otherwise this would be impossible. You can imagine the discussion in Hethel during development of the Evora. "FFS Dave, the alternator has failed. We're going to have to drop the f*cking engine to get the bugger out!" Dave.....reaches for jigsaw...."hold me coat".
  2. Check the window regulators. The motor control board can suffer damage from water ingress. They do strange things.....auto drop when you open the door doesn't work, window drops for no reason then won't close, windows won't drop at all, etc. Relatively easy fix but almost £500 each side in parts. If you get a test drive.....enjoy your inevitable purchase! I hummed and hawed until I drove my first one, then it was an easy decision.
  3. Surprised to see a grey S1 Evora (****RBD) in my rear view mirror, going east after Gogar r/bout on the A720 Saturday evening. Unfortunately, I was in a grey Honda CR-V at the time - so now you know who gave you the thumbs up as you went past. Apart from car shows, yours is only the second one I've seen on the road since I bought mine. Best colour too 😉
  4. The straight-on rear aspect reminds me of someone well endowed in the buttocks department, riding a bike with excess fat rolling off each side of the saddle. Sorry, give me a 400 derriere any time. The rest of the Emira looks good though!
  5. Sub £70k (just) - is this the cheapest one yet for sale? Used LOTUS EMIRA (131) V6 FIRST EDITION 2022 for sale - PistonHeads UK
  6. 44 Emiras for sale on Autotrader today versus 17 Evoras (which I think is around the norm). Those numbers have to worry Lotus, especially with the recently announced price increases across the board. Will the i4 versions fare any better? I doubt it unless all of these FE Emiras up for sale are just speculators trying to get out of the market.
  7. I was just reminded about this. Sounds like a good excuse to take the Evora out, hopefully be there tomorrow.
  8. Evora came out of hibernation at the weekend and I'd been on the road for 5 minutes when a shirtless and tattooed yoof hanging out the passenger window of a Fiesta ST gave me a thumbs up and a big smile. Who says the youth of today don't have taste? Gratuitous pic of the beast after thrashing the roads of Berwickshire and North Northumberland. Such an awesome car to drive down twisty roads, exhaust blaring between the hedgerows. I love this car more every time I drive it, sublime.
  9. Humza Yousaf for leader you say? I'll just leave this here.....
  10. That's wild, any idea why it failed like that? Manufacturing defect or damaged? I had one blow out on me some years ago but never did figure out why. Ended up going sideways along the M8 at one o'clock in the morning. Skid marks on more than just the road.....
  11. I spent a good bit of time looking for the right Evora. N/A, then an S then I convinced myself I wanted a late Sports Racer. However, the 400 swung it for me in the end and I don't regret it. It's a superb car. I don't think there are any bad Evoras, but the 400's looks, comfort/practicality (wife likes it!), noise and handling are all I need in a car. 400 horses are very often too much for UK roads, but it's great to have them in reserve for those times they can be let loose.
  12. How easy is it to remove? Is it screwed in place or held with adhesive strips.....or both? I'm thinking of replacing it with something shiny in carbon fibre.
  13. Sounds glorious.....hopefully everyone in a 5 mile radius will agree!

    No way

Hmm, if this is what passes as a "brand new" part then buyer beware for sure........or were they originally supplied by Lotus after being tested on a speed hump? LOTUS EVORA 400 FRONT BUMPER BRAND NEW | eBay
