  1. Same here! Yes, your wife; I retired before you.
  2. Wrinkle paint every time IMO. I think it looks waaay better.
  3. Excellent! You will indeed get clutch slip if you've adjusted that nut well up, as that's exactly what it's for - to prevent flywheel damage when the clutch is thin. Adjust it to spec and leave it there, and all should be fine if everything else is within limits.
  4. No, no standard OBD socket. You need a specific cable and Freescan or EspritMon software. 10 minute job to diagnose (generally) if so, and many of us do. Probably an owner near you, wherever you are?
  5. Can an Admin please remove the Lotus Heritage events link to another topic? Things could get messy...
  6. It's called Resting Bitch Face. The women in my family are cursed with it. Definitely nothing to do with the men.
  7. I know who you are, and I know where you live... 1 & 2. Sparky & spouse
  8. A very simple test is to check whether the pushrod can be moved or rotated. Just get a hand to it from underneath or via the RHR wheel well. If you can move it at all, it's not preloaded.
  9. There's no adjustment there other than bleeding, and that's perfectly possible with boot floor insitu.
  10. <begins search for decent Mk1 Granada>
  11. Coincidentally and tragically, said Son-in-Law's mother had a minor medical issue 3 years ago, was admitted, caught COVID on the ward and died.
  12. My 11yo granddaughter had not a single thought in her head about gender transition until the school went to great lengths to ram it down the kids' throats that it was OK to be trans. Thereafter she spent a few months wanting to be trans, until she realised that she didn't. Meanwhile one of her class decided she was trans, and insisted on new pronouns. Amber failed to use them and got into trouble for it. The power of suggestion.
  13. I had a fascinating chat with my Son-in-Law t'other day. He's a hands-on manager in a London hospital - a battlefield officer, one might argue. He was telling me about all the wonderful advances - including AI - that are helping keep people alive. I asked him if he really thought that is a good thing, given the bulk of these people (let's be honest here, I can say this because I'm more or less one of them) are no longer useful to the species. In fact, by his own admission, many of them can no longer communicate or demonstrate awareness of their surroundings. I certainly don't want to get to that stage, but we're not allowed to consider alternatives in this country. Yet. I think the message here is that everyone can see good emanating within their own experience and scope, and not enough attention is being paid to the macro effects of constant growth/continuous improvement etc. No other species expends so much time and resource on keeping its old/infirm alive. It's fundamental to long-term survival. In other news, the hospital radiologists are now required to ask all patients, regardless of gender, if they think they might be pregnant.
  14. Dunno, but I'm forced to endure at least half a dozen a year.
  15. IT by Fujitsu, perchance?
  16. Antigua looms...
  17. Your above remains ambiguous. Had your question been "are the valves for cylinder 1 closed?" then this would have been a much shorter conversation. Is that what you meant?
