2021 project

Right so to start 2021 on a bit more of a positive note - I’ve cleared a spitfire out the way and sadly sold the Evora.

What I really really fancy is a noble - but there isn’t anything tempting at the right money currently. So I’ve done a deal on something else instead to keep me amused.

Garage cleared today to make space - I’m hoping to collect it next week. Work wise I’m busy on another hen shed - so it might take some time to get my teeth into this one.

Needless to say - I’ve had to clear some shelf space for the boxes and boxes of parts. Roll on collection.4A3A5515-1EE1-4D51-B0F6-BEECB99548B2.jpeg.35d48dcdc0c71084343cd3054bf6504a.jpeg5D9F5E37-BAE2-4248-A400-8B83AB28591C.jpeg.f40587d7da16a199d62a5a79a7f25839.jpeg

I have been trying to do a deal on a Morgan - but the insurance company are a bit slow on the thing. I’ve genuinely no idea If it’s got wood on what I’ve bought - it’s simply not my usual sort of thing and I’d never even considered one before

Tracks or wheels?

Blessed with the competence to be a slave to the incapable.

Currently without a Lotus, Evora 400 Hethel Edition in Racing Green with Red leather and 2010 Evora N/A in Laser Blue and 1983 Lotus Excel LC Narrow body in Ice Blue all sadly gone.

Get yourself an X358, the last of the proper Jags. I’ve had a 2.7 Sovereign diesel for the last 4 years as my daily, great car 👍

Everyone who goes in it loves it.

Could not agree more. I bought a 3.0 Sovereign in 2006, it was 17 months old and I did 100k miles in it in 4 years. It never let me down. Was just superb in every way. Biggest repair bill was £600 for new undertrays and dealer servicing was reasonably at around £400 a time. I absolutely loved that car. It had every option including rear entertainment etc. Bough it for £25k sold it 4 years, 100k later, for £14.5k as a px.  Fantastic value.

If that is your car @eeyoreishthen what a stunner. Lovely.

Yes, that’s my one. Last of the line 2009 Sovereign in runout spec with the 20” alloys etc. Lovely car and after 4 years there’s still nothing I want more so it will probably stay with me for the foreseeable.

Looks lovely. I'm thinking of selling my XE and getting one now :)

A friend of mine has a diesel XE. Bought it used from the Jag main agent but has had quite a bit of trouble with it, mostly around the Adblue system. Nice enough car but I was surprised how much engine noise you could hear inside, which he told me is a common criticism from owners.

I almost bought an XF a few years ago but the XJ is the only Jag I've ever really wanted. In the X350/358 you get proper Jag looks with much better underpinnings and internal size than the old XJ40 and X300s. I was surprised how low and small those feel inside.

Also the later cars are aluminium bodied so even my 2.7 V6 diesel ain't slow! The XJR is a real animal!

@eeyoreish I have seen that Jag and it is lovely I tried to convince the wife after meeting you to buy the TE but she wasn’t having any of it.
anyway what is happening with the TE I still have dreams about that engine 😀

Well @Dan E, what a coincidence you should ask... Today was slightly sad as I moved it from the garage alongside the other one into our new store building and somewhat 'boxed it in'. It's not what I'd planned and it's strictly temporary while we get our two self catering units completed and up and running, which has to be my focus for the next few months.

Once those are done/renting and my semi-retirement plan really comes together it'll be going back in the garage to get worked on. The body will at some point come back into the store while I work on the chassis.

Don't worry about that engine, it's safe but I'm not telling you where. Obvs.Lotus1.jpg.6c8ddd39386b3ae0196f84f402933881.jpg
