Gratuitous Grandad post warning!

Well here is the first 100% electric Emira and it is also a roadster!  

This is an official Lotus product in a Lotus box.  Only one problem.  I can't fit in it!  In fact if anybody is interested be aware that the websites say suitable for 3-8 year olds but our 4 year old (granted tall) grandson is already quite large in it and may only get to 5 or so before he's too big for it.

It is 3 speed.  Fwd & Reverse. Comes with a parental wireless remote control so if child is still too small to drive you can do everything remotely. Or take over when it all starts getting too stressful!  

The level of detailing is amazing for things like paintwork, lights, interior LED strips, radio, steering wheel, engine noise, seat design down to even coat hook on back of seat and even a USB stick port for music I think!  

 

Best £130 I've spent in ages.  Gransdson is chuffed to bits to be driving Granddad's car which he has in other scales as well and you can even get authentic looking number plates for a couple of quid extra.  Got him into Lotus young much to his fathers disgust who wants him golfing.

It is actually quite powerful for moving around on a grass lawn with obstacles and slopes dealt with no problem unlike some other sit and ride toys friends kids have.

Good point well made!  None.  maybe based on previous lotus expectations

Probably the same engine the very first ones had to move them around the showrooms.

Another good point, well made!  Actually as the old bird gets on a bit it is more about handbags and coats/jackets these days!  - He says getting dangerously off topic. Sorry 😞

@Al the rear spoiler would need to be about 2’ higher for me to have any chance of pushing the car back to youngest grandson house when battery runs out of juice

Actually that is another thing I’m impressed with so far. Battery life. My son was saying has now played with it each evening for a while since Saturday hand over of the keys and not yet been charged.

Every time I think, 'That's my perfect colour,' I see another photo of an Emira in a completely different one and think, 'Oh no, now it's that one'!

Fire away Bibs, no problem. I have shown the photos to lots of various Lotus owners at meets etc and nobody can believe the price. Everybody has it at least £800 up to almost anything. 

As I’m not a great follower of socials (or even on many) could you fire me a PM with a link to anywhere you post it so I can see and show him.

One great follow up story though!  Son is golfing with work colleagues and cars are being discussed. One new engineer says “oh I saw a stunning car in the flesh the other day - a blue Lotus.  Do you know the model I mean?  I think an Emira”. Son replies “yep I know it, my Dad and my son have one” 😂 Brilliant one liner!  Double take by rest of foursome
