When I received the first call I was unsure if I was going V6 manual or AMG i4, this morning had the follow up call from the Lotus hub definitely going for AMG but will need to speak to Scott Walker as I'm after a special paint scheme

LOL.  My modeller only covers UK V6 FE, otherwise my head will explode!  But I can have a good guess at which year a custom paint own spec AMG will be - I’m sure it’ll be worth the wait

@TomE I’m guessing mid-late 2023 a year later than my hoped for date when I first put deposit down 17th May, but really happy that all looks extremely good for Lotus. As you say will (definitely) be worth the wait 😃

Paid my second deposit today and only afterwards noticed the below on the config page. I was under the impression that the period ended on the 5th. Am I missing something do you think? I might have waited in the (probably vain) hope of seeing some fully painted cars before the 12th. My fault for not reading the small print!

"Configuration Period means the period of time between the 20th September 2021 and the 12th November 2021 and during which you will be invited by email to Configure an Emira by paying a Configuration Fee."

Even then we might still have a month before the hammer comes down so there need to worry too much.

We can expect to pay further money then.

Placed my deposit mid/late Sept, just had the call from Lotus and as I'm on for a V6 they're sending me the configuration link and 2nd deposit request....

Ah, thanks, that helps us gauge how they are doing. They are clearly getting through them faster now that the June to August stampede waned into the Autumn.  I have no idea where Lotus are now with global second deposits but they still mention that Spring is looking like a reality for deliveries.  

Have they said where your slot puts you?  I assume you are Autumn/Winter 2022 - but who really knows.

No guarantees but late 2022 at the earliest.... That's fine I need to decide which Porsche to sell before then! Extensive testing during the whole of 22 will be conducted.

I accept that as a May depositor I need to confirm my choice, without seeing the cars in the flesh, before possibly delivery in the Spring.  

However, it seems fairer to me that you should be given a few months more grace before having to commit your spec. This would then put you in the great position of likely seeing all the cars in the flesh before committing. 

Alas, Lotus wish to know many they will need to make as early as possible so I assume you have to cement your choice at the same time as everyone else.

It's all still refundable. To me the only thing I'm not certain on is touring vs. sport, I'll need to drive cars personally to decide, but given I am end 2022 I expect this to be possible before I have to commit.

I hope so too.  It will be far too late for the rest of us. My position on the suspension is well known 😁

My default position is touring. If I wanted a track day weapon I would be better served with an Exige!

I recall Lotus saying a few weeks ago they were pausing the UK deposit calls and would resume in December.  So this sounds like that re-start.

The first batch of calls created a book of 500-600 with second deposits, so roughly the first 6 months of UK production.  I expect this new set of calls is to create the “Batch 2” book, so the second 6 months and provisionally for delivery Sept 2022 onwards.

Interesting so that basically gives some timings to deposit holders.

i.e. if you have not yet had a call you won't be getting the car in the summer even.

I;d still love to know how many they will build each day and at which point the US and ROW orders start their builds.

It's my interpretation of info from Customer Services, Sales, dealers and people posting about when they placed deposits and got calls.  It could be higher by a few 100.

People being called now are late Aug/early Sept deposits and being told if they chose V6 FE then it's probably Q4 2022 or early 2023 delivery.

The other question is how many V6 FE Emiras they will build before shutting down that specific book.

They have said that all FE Orders will honoured but if they don't stop people ordering them then it will never end. If they also start i4 production in 2022 as planned then surely the V6 builds will go well into 2023.
