Brilliantly done. I don't mind the odd wonky panel gap, I accept it as part of the essence of low volume manufacturing but it is fun to read of owner solutions.

Justin , Thanks , I don't mind the odd wonky panel gad , whe still has a few , the lights themselves could do with more work. However I couldn't cope with an 5 to 8 mm "in to wind" step between panels especially so near the leading edge.

I've wondered why it wasn't as efficient as it could be .....

Mine was like that also when I replaced mine.

So finally on with phase 2 of this year's winter jobs, reasons various means it now an early spring job ... But hopefully it will get done over the next week or two.. so front clam now off...can't believe how many nuts ) bolts either sheared or needed to be drilled off....

Current state , needs a bit of a clean under therereceived_612164800769923.jpeg.c8ee204157f95999c11612b7ba292dc4.jpeg

Now waiting for a Rad and Condenser from Dave at Seriously Lotus... Then it will be rear under tray off (again) to swap out the power steering pump as (see other thread) I think I've got pressure loss at low RPM causing pulsing in the steering.

Did you replace the air-con receiver dryer filter ?

No , took a flyer that as the system hadn't leaked nor had significant exposure to atmosphere then it would be ok..

For the lap straps so they are removable I've used the Schroth figure 8 pieces both bolted down to the Lotus attachment points. For the outer I bought an original lotus passenger side bolting point that bolted straight to the seat rails.

First tasks where the really annoying day to day bits and pieces

1) Couldn’t open the front access panel…. After finding the damn lever buried way under the middle of the dashboard at full arm’s length – why couldn’t Lotus have just added a switch like the boot or fuel cap! Found that the cable was jumping out of the (Jag sourced) lever.

The plastic has broken where the cable is held on both sides so its been swapped round once. Solution Print a plug to bolt in and trap the cable

….. the difficult bit as usual getting under the dash to fasten it all together!!

Headlight washers are not working and the clutch needs bleeding....

Do you have the STL file for this or a link to it?  I have the same problem - and both sides are broken (now!).

So not a lot to update on this thread this year , eBay purchase of a front access panel lever as I managed to break it permanently (Jag X-Type I think) cleaned the head light nozzles yet again to ensure they at least pop up if not actually spray very much. Then off to the MOT station and an hour later a clean bill of health. So much for this being a hobby car...

So TD at Oulton Park on Tuesday for LOT so quick check of everything , all good bar the front pads. So new front brake pads needed and whilst I'm at it decided to do the rears as well.

And found this...

The one separated from the pile the pad material has separated from the backing plate , they just fell out in 2 piece's as I removed them. Hadn't noticed an issue in recent road drives but I do wonder what would have happened on track. Glad I decided to change the rears early now.
