Thoughts on Outdoor covers... So many mixed reviews!

When I didn't have a garage I used Specialised Covers Stormshield for both my Elise and Evoras. Given the softness of the pain used on the Elise in particular the fleece lining didn't ever damage it. It wasn't really much of a pain to take on and off onnce you have developed a technique.

The new material for the outdoor covers is much softer than the material used on the Stormshield, it's much easier to fold. I've had one for my Evora for 4/5 months now and it's much easier to use.

Either way, @Dobbin145's technique of folding it to the middle then rolling/folding it up is the best way!

I’ve normally bought my covers from Classic Additions, the “super soft stretch indoor” ones specially. Does anyone know how these ones compare to those? They seem similar but Emira one is over double the price.

The material is similar to a soft shell jacket and this makes them super easy to fit/remove and store. The indoor ones are slightly silky too so look ace :D

I did the product photography for Lotus of all the OEM covers so have spent quite a bit of time with them!

Wow, that is lovely, almost as nice as the car itself!

Alas, I will only have the car outside for now but will get one of these when I move to a place with a bigger garage.

If it has an engine, I am there to thrash it.

Ha, well, stick it over your current car and dream about it.😊

Has anybody tried an Evora indoor cover over an Emira yet?  I like my green/yellow piping fleecy cover used for last 13 years and as the cars are very similar just wondering if I really need to get rid of the Evora cover along with the car and buy a new one I like less.

I know what Bib's answer will be 😂

Try it! I don't think it will be too far out and will certainly do the job off keeping the car clean and dust free 👍

Good idea!  If nobody else has tried I'll take it along to the dealer - sorry agent - and ask if I can try on their demo once I'm back home from offshore.  If I do I'll post up either outcome.

Received a cover last week from Speciaist Covers and the cover was very badly made.

Compared to the covers I received in 2009 and 2015 from the same company, the standard of work on their latest cover is of a very poor quality. I have asked for my money back and I will take my business elsewhere.

I praised their workmanship on here when I got my other 2 covers so the opposite must also hold sway.

So just a heads up for anyone wanting to use this company, their standards have slipped a long long way!

That is a shame and sorry to hear it. Just for clarity, this was not purchased via TLF and is not a Lotus cover or OEM Lotus cover. We have however helped Paul with speaking to the right people at Specialised to complain about this.

Thanks Bibs.

Yes it was for another car and I used them because I had bought before via TLF and was over the moon with their covers.

But I thought it best to let everyone know that their covers are not what they used to be.

I have written them a full email regarding the faults, my wife happens to know  a lot about fabrics and dressmaking and she was very shocked at the poor quality and the poor finish.

Hopefully a refund will be forthcoming.
