Hello all, like many young James Bond fans, i have always dreamt of owning an Esprit. When an S3 came up for sale, very close to home, i had to have a look. The previous owner had spent many thousands sorting it, as well as a complete respray. He needed to sell to make room for an AC Cobra replica, so i bit the bullet. 

I've made a few small mods here and there, a new android headunit, remote central locking and a reversing camera, with more to come. I took some shots by the Forth Rail Bridge as it was a rare sunny day in Scotland.

Welcome Simon. I think I've seen that S3 around - I am in Dalgety Bay. Was it laid up there for several years before it got moved on for the restoration, or was that a different one? Where did you pick it up and where abouts are you? My V8 should be back on the road before the end of the year, would be nice to hook up and take a look some time.

Thanks for the replies, I've just got back from a holiday, so was slow to respond. Here's some shots of the mods I've done so far.

Android headunit. It was a tight squeeze to get it in there. It's a little uneven, so I need to sort that.

Stalk controller for the stereo.

Display for the parking sensors. I flipped the display upside down and fitted it that way. I haven't fitted the sensors yet, as the bolts holding the rear bumper on are super rusty.

I also fitted a remote battery isolator. After sitting for 3 weeks, it still started up fine.

The previous owner was in Rosyth and had it for 4 years. I'm not sure how long it was off the road for it's restoration. I think he regretted selling, as he bought a silver S3 not very long after.

My Lotus journey started in Fife - KIrkcaldy . One of the techy teachers at school had a Lotus 7 and my neighbour as a teenager had a JPS Esprit ( which he binned into the scenery and then it caught fire ... )
