Yes - sadly another red car. 🙂

problem now is that the wife has just seen our new inflated bank balance. 😞

To me yes - this image in that colour (with black sills) is probably my all time favourite Esprit.....

A fairly original S1 has just been auctioned off for 39k usd on BaT https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1977-lotus-esprit-2/ quite a nice original car with some flaws and some mods. Another S1 in better condition is featured @no reserve in the upcoming RM Sotheby’s Monterey auction next weekend (estimated at 80-100k) https://rmsothebys.com/en/auctions/MO18/Monterey/lots/r0103-1977-lotus-esprit-series-i/693515 will be interesting to see where it ends up. Both these cars are not even close to the best ones of some of our forum members, ie Fabian’s @Lotusfab and others.

Totally agree as do plenty of other folks,  great colour for the S2 and by far the best looking esprit design in the series imo

You can sell anything if the price is right. Even more so if you have a good reputation and a quality product. But for anyone trying to game the situation by squeezing the most out of deals, often at the expense of their customers, then I'm afraid they'll have to wait for willing buyers.

Not sure @Tocus would agree with that. Mainland Europe doesn’t seem great either

Yes nowhere is great. Ferrari prices are dropping, a friend has been trying to sell a 430 Scuderia for months and its LHD so has a world market but simply cant shift it even with the current GBP exchange rate.

Dealers are still advertising crazy prices to make the market appear better than it is, but they are taking anything they can get.

Brexit seems to have dampened prices here, but the rest of the western world prices are going great guns.

How has Brexit done that?

Anything that makes the general public eg the classic car buying market, uncertain of the economic future, will make them more likely to hold onto as much of their savings as possible. Simple socio-economics really.

Really? Seems like BBC propaganda to me. Think the market is just settling down after a period of overheating now interest rates are starting to rise
