So he's basically got 19 points, no insurance and he's ok to still drive! Yup, very good solicitor and very broken magistrate. While there is some kindness there, if his licence is so important to his family, perhaps he shouldn't have been pissed in the car and already had so many points.

How many points do you get over in the UK?

It's 12 here.

Getting an extraordinary licence is not that easy. You have to have a really good argument. Well you used to. Don't know about nowadays. 🤔

Many many years ago I accumulated 12 points. 4 separate speeding in 8 months.

I was expecting a 12 month ban,  but after appearing in front of a magistrate I was let off with a rather large fine and the words “you will only need to sneeze out of line in a car ect ect”

I got lucky.

In my opinion it's a disgrace that this individual (original post)was allowed to keep their licence. Also, doesn't reflect too well on people views of the legal profession.

Were you a slow learner at school?  I got the cane once, I didn't need to get it another 3 times to learn to do something differently.

This exactly @Bibs. It's reading this kind of shit that makes you realise just why society is going down the drain in this country. Pissed. No insurance. Flat tyre. And the magistrates take pity. I wonder if they will be prosecuted as an "accessory" if this scum bag, whom they allowed to continue to drive, now kills someone?

At the very least there needs to be an investigation into why the magistrates where so lenient. It's absolutely unbelievable and shatters your trust in the judiciary.

I came into this world screaming and covered in someone elses blood. I'll probably leave it in the same way.

The small print.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Yes I was. Extremely slow. I got the cane 3 times. Like I said it was along time ago now.

Todays school judicial system would probably have me contemplating the consequences of my actions by sitting me around in a circle talking about the whys and how’s of my upbringing and the consequences of my actions and what I would have done differently. That or some rehabilitation program.
For the purposes of this conversation you can call that a speed awareness course.

"Whip-crack-away" as Doris once sang. She could have tied me to that Deadwood Stage Coach wheel any time.
