Thanks for that Bibs. I realise the joke is probably wasted on our American cousins (present company/Forum members excepted of course) but I note the pronunciation at the beginning of the piece - Warnker. Maybe they do get it after all...

My boss in the early 80's came from the UK. We had a computer system for our group named "wanker". Went over most people's heads and it was commonly referenced throughout the support organization. . i.e. "go get the files off of wanker"

When I worked in industry we had a piece of software called Task Index Translation Tables which happened to be looked after by a girl. We quite often had to go to her and ask "can I have a look at you TITTS" :)

Here is a vid from CNET for their new show CNET On Cars and the first few moment of the show take place at some kind of Lotus Shrine I believe I'm guessing Lotus had nothing to do with it since they forgot to put an Evora in the frame :(

I note your location Bob, Rochester NY. I worked for the European end of an outfit based in Rochester in the late 80's and I know we had a few UK folk based over there. You didn't happen to work for CCI did you? If so, hi and what a small world!

Hi Mark. Sorry to say it was before I moved to Rochester NY. The company I worked for at the time (GenRad)was located in Concord MA and is long deceased sad to say. When I relocated to Rochester I was already working for Eastman Kodak Co in a local subsidiary. I'm retired now, but also sad to say Kodak is now fighting off extinction too. (Rochester based employees down to about 4500 from being well over 60,000 in the 1980s peak !!!). They are currently in Ch11 bankruptcy, trying to reorganize and plan to sell off every division save their commercial printing.operations. Another sign of the times.

How did they keep themselves under the ice yet upside down that well?

Truly surreal, must have been the product of a lot of planning.

In theory there is no difference between theory and practice.<br />

In practice, there is!
