I'm planning to try some old tom gin. It's not a brand, it's a type in the same way that "London" is  a type. Anybody else tried any?

I like an old Tom. Abelforths bathtub old Tom is my favourite

You know what I'd like to see - a Gin/Tonic or mixer matrix.

So, all makes of gin in one column and tonics/mixers along another with recommended ticks (by manufacturer I guess) populating it.

A quick search found something similar by not quite right  - and not quite right language

Anyone know of one?

I don’t think tonic mixers should be flavoured, I think it detracts from the delicate botanical infusions of the gin. Currently sampling this one, and it’s proving to be very popular with the wife....

Pete - thats exactly it! Thanks!!

Its a matter of the tonic type rather than the specific brand so that can be used in just that way.

Chillidoggy is correct too of course, whats the point of great gin if its just drowned out by the mixer. May as well just drink Gordons.

But, most guests like a bit of tonic and girls positively judge you on the additions youprovide. But they have to be the right ones!

We weren’t impressed, Malfy Con Limone is still top of the pops, along with Slingsby Rhubarb and the black peppery Opihr.

We’ve just bought a bottle of Da Mhile seaweed gin from Wales, which we find best partnered with Bermondsey Tonic. This combination is exceptionally good in our judgment, and well worth the investment.
