So, after some help from this place, looking around a bit things accelerated this week and I've got one!

I have got increasingly antsy since selling my Exige last year; toyed with other things but none quite ticked all the boxes so decided "stuff it" a couple of weeks ago and erm.......picked this up today. Lotus No. 5.

Basics are 2011 Evora S, Canyon Red, 1 owner, MY12 gear cables, 4 new tyres, clutch only 1000 miles ago; Tech Pack plus reversing camera, folding mirrors (so I don't need the £10 switch from ebay) and Xenons.

I'm still getting over how bizarre it is that it's definitely a Lotus in terms of feel but I can hear the radio on the motorway.

I'll get the waistline wrapped black pretty soon as that makes them look loads better, need to have a think about doing the roof too. This is just after I got home.

Bit of a trek to get it and thanks to the dog sitter letting me down I had to take the idiot with me.

Here she is lying on the floor of a Virgin train like Mr Corbyn (although we were in 1st)

Now a bit fed up and wanting to go

And now thinking "this fucking thing is tiny!". She's used to the QP or the back of our C class estate.

It is incredible how they managed to get a 1400kg car to drive like a Lotus, amazes me every time.

I love a car thread that involves dog pictures. I'm actually tempted to start an 'post a picture of your Evora with a dog' thread of my own but not sure how it would go down with cat lovers.

Ta, sadly the QP will be on its way fairly soon but that'll be a wrench. They can be drivemates for a while though. As good as the V6 is it isn't quite the hilarious lunacy of the NA V8 in the QP.

As far as the clutch goes the car has done 29k miles and the clutch was done last year but only 1000miles ago. Nothing in the history to explain exactly why but it had the MY12 cables done at the same time. Chap who had it only traded it in to get a 400.

Well I've actually driven it now! It had sat where I left it on Wednesday evening after getting back. Simply been too busy and when I've needed to drive it's been to do things like to buy a new lawnmower and, as practical as an evora is, it ain't that practical.

I have swapped the plates for the short ones I bought (legal size just as small as possible

So, after everything was done this evening I popped out for 30 minutes. God it's quick. I'm lucky to have some really nice roads on my doorstep. I would say that it's actually quicker than my old 240 Cup exige point to point as it's able to soak so much more up. On coming through town while people were on their way out for a bank holiday Sunday night (i.e. a Saturday night in effect) it drew a lot of stares, something I'd slightly forgotten about as the QP is a lot more subtle and seems to generate less outright gawping. Oh yeah, and chavs want to race me again which I'd forgotten about too. I didn't bite.

I would go for sills, roof, mirrors and front lip. Did my 2010 NA in Gloss Black... (See below).

I recall taking my brother's Labrador on a trip in the Esprit, he doesn't like cars, so add the fact he had to rest his head on the front tunnel and we have one less than impressed dog.
