  1. The US is a great holiday. Getting a Charger / Challenger will be superb fun and the fuel is cheaper over there. We did a few trips. 1982 - Road trip: Boston, New England. New York, Washington DC, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Nevada, California, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, Salt Lake City, Washington State, Oregon, Chicago, Vancouver Island, Toronto and lots more. 1986 - Road Trip: Visiting almost every state. 2003 - Road Trip: LA, Las Vegas, Monument Valley, Tombstone, Mexicali, Palm Springs, Joshua Tree. 2018 - Road trip in V8 Mustang: Orlando, Miami, Keys, Naples, Tampa. All wonderful memories. I hope you have a great time .
  2. Looks like it needs a respray with heavy stone chips and clear coat lifting in various places. And a bit rusty underneath. But still a bargain at it's current £18k. Ending today.
  3. Here's a shot of Chapman at the Geneva Motorshow in 1981 looking at the "new" turbo diesel Covini B24 Supercar I've always had an interest in 1970s supercars and today worked out this car was actually a rebadged Lombardi FL1 from 1972. Anyone who had Top Trumps "Prototypes" cards in the 70s might remember this car. Rarer than hens teeth. Ferruccio Covini bought the prototype, removed the Lancia 2000 engine and installed a turbo diesel, added rear buttresses, resprayed it white and called it a Covini. https://www.lotusespritturbo.com/Lombardi_FL1.htm Lombardi at the 1972 Turin Motorshow: And he later rename it again a Covini Sirio and added a body kit from Halfords .
  4. I guess the Police could have used the camera's to identify the driver, as he sped through the city. But it my case, it was a long time ago, before cameras.
  5. I got hit by a car that was doing 40mph drive the wrong way down a busy city road. It was a Volvo 740, built like a brick. My head went straight through the windscreen, I crashed to the ground and woke up with people looking over me. I was cover in blood. The driver in the Volvo drove off. I woke up again in A&E as they removed glass from my head with a scapula blade. I had an MRI scan, they said a traumatic brain injury, as my brain had swollen up and I couldn't move for 4 days. I'm lucky I didn't die. I still have scares from the accident. So I can understand the point in camera's in built up areas and accident hot spots. But I don't agree with camera's just as a source of revenue for the Councils / TFL.
  6. Happy New Year! Here’s to a great 2024 with loads of good car events.
  7. Doesn't send out a good message. Especially with New Years eve approaching.
  8. That photo above was taken at the 1975 British Grand Prix. Here's the French GP from 1973.
  9. John Miles driving the 1969 Lotus 63 4x4 F1 car. Hill called it a Deathtrap.
  10. Stunning looking car. I remember seeing a V8 in that exact colour / spec at Lotus Bristol back in 2003/4. Wonder if it's the same car.
  11. It's a real problem who to vote for next year. I'm not voting Tory (for the first time ever) due to the mess they've created and I'm not voting for the lefties. Hmm . . .
  12. Classic Car prices are taking a tumble too. This 911 Turbo, which would normally sell for £100,000 plus, sold on Collecting Cars this week for £52k. There are plenty more examples of cars of cars selling way below estimates or not hitting reserve. (PS sorry for post a photo of a Porsche, there is no excuse).
  13. Yes I spotted that too. Prices of new and used supercars seem to be dipping at the moment, maybe good time to buy.
  14. Took a couple of Autumn shots of my motor yesterday, with a new reg I won recently on Collecting Cars .
  15. Wonder what this Evora S goes for? Looks a good deal at the moment. £22k and 3 hours left, someone could get a bargain . . . https://collectingcars.com/for-sale/2013-lotus-evora-s
  16. An S2. Very nice indeed. Congrats Danny.
  17. That was a good film. I wasn't expecting much initially but the acting and true story were top notch.
  18. Passed a 1000 days a couple of weeks back. Hell I could do with a drink! On a different subject, here's a picture of a nice car:
