  1. Hawker Hurricane.
  2. Quite. No houses and definitely not the Mulsanne Straight.
  3. I was last there in 2018 for the anniversary bash, but my memories of Potash Lane is that it is only a short drive off the Wymondham Rd and nowhere near any houses, basically Xenos > CTL > Lotus Cars. Not really enough distance to get up to any speed. Isn’t the Wymondham Rd through the villages the problem?
  4. “No tools kept in van overnight” stickers… Err, OK then. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll break into the next one instead. 😆
  5. I had to laugh the other day. The wife and I were heading to the VW dealer for her Polo’s annual service. There was an accident on the main dual carriageway and so a lot of people were diverting onto a minor road through a village. This village has one of those little 1970s police houses. Parked directly in front of it was a big white marked police van with a speed camera pointing down the road. The heavy traffic was at crawling pace. There was no way on earth you could be speeding, even if you wanted to, so why would they waste a morning’s resources parked up there? Maybe it was the close proximity of tea, biscuits and WC facilities in the adjacent house?
  6. Shouldn’t worry. It’s tucked away in a thread titled “Evora UK numbers”. Can’t see them dipping in here!
  7. To be fair to the Lotus rep, nothing he has told them is any surprise. We have all known for years that Lotus is going electric only with all new models. Dealers have known about this and the new infrastructure necessary to work on these cars. Maybe Central Lotus made their mind up some time ago not to invest in this and stick to the ICE cars?
  8. I guess the supply model for Eletre and Emeya is quite different to the Hethel products, which are transported to a UK compound (BCA?) for PDI prior to delivery to dealers as and when required. The electric cars must arrive on a slow boat from China and I believe are PDI’d by the dealers, who probably receive much bigger but less frequent batches than they would from BCA, so they need to store them for longer. Just a theory anyway.
  9. According to the DVLA, that 924 is actually a 2.5 litre from 1986. The 2 litre 924 GTS were apparently all LHD and built in 1981.
  10. I saw him win the inaugural CART race at Rockingham in 2001. Boy those things went fast.
  11. We get deliveries from Domino’s. Always get 50% off reasonable quantities, so large pizzas work out at £12 each, delivered. We usually buy 3 pizzas for 4 people and have plenty left over for warming up a second meal, so that works out at £4.50 per person per meal. I used to work for a company that made tools. They sold 2 types of drill sharpener. Neither worked…
  12. Haha, my dad had exactly the same tin of screws, washers, etc. He had a second Twiglets one for nails. I’ve also got a similar tin, but not sure what brand it is.
  13. How do they fly with no vertical stabiliser?
  14. Just an addition to this. He has apparently since tweeted his complaint that the majority of the electorate did not vote to remove him: conveniently forgetting to mention that the majority of the electorate didn’t vote for him in the first place!
  15. You should have checked the tyres when you picked it up. I don’t see any dealer repairing/replacing that 7 weeks later free of charge. I always seem to get a nail or screw in a tyre a few weeks after I buy a brand new car. It’s very annoying!
  16. Bingo. We got him out. 13.2% of the electorate bothered to vote. Considering how hard they made it to participate, that’s a great result. Cheerio you disgusting old twat.
  17. Also, couldn’t her father have just carried her up one flight of stairs, rather than drive back home 200 miles in the dead of night?
  18. What do people actually do in their free time nowadays? I don’t consider myself a particularly active or outdoorsy kind of person, but take today as an example. I got up fairly late and had a nice breakfast at about 10.15h. I then vacuumed the living room, did a couple of quick DIY jobs and got ready to go outside. I got the ladders out of the garage and went round the entire house cleaning out the gutters. I then put the ladders away and raked and swept up the remaining leaves in the garden and driveway. I then got the hosepipe out and washed my car. Just as I was putting everything away, a random bloke turned up looking for decorating work. I had a good chat with him and he did me a quote. I dried off the car and came back inside for lunch. During all of this two and a half hours outside, I didn’t see or hear a single neighbour from any of the four adjacent properties doing anything at all. Judging by their parked cars, they were all at home. So what are they all doing?
  19. Our two female kittens have just had the snip today. The vet has dressed them in, err, leopard print cat suits. They’re still very wobbly from the anaesthetic.
  20. Apologies if posted before, here are some Top Trumps cards, featuring Lotus models. Someone should have checked the Carlton data before going to print…
  21. Why do News reporters continually yell out at politicians as they come and go from buildings? It’s not like they ever get an answer. Do they think it impresses their employers and justifies their fee for the day? To me they just come across as pointless twats.
