  1. When are you getting one @Bibs? Tempted to sell my mini 2 and get this; the screen on the controller, obstacle avoidance and the increased gimble upwards pitch would be worth it to me.
  2. It's escalating if true... https://twitter.com/RealCynicalFox/status/1523422162761416705?s=20&t=SE_kqzSwBXsrh7W01k40Hg (Can't post twitter pics correctly ??)
  3. Go left if you need it, go right if you want to change it.
  4. The old WWII adage comes to mind, "loose lips sink ships".
  5. Lovely colour that Steel Blue. @Sparky, you got off lightly with that bolt I wasn't so lucky... had to call in a mobile welder to glue it back on!
  6. God pete, toilet paper is really expensive round your way!
  7. You think Barry? Hard to tell sarcasm on here. I think the video is half woke art class 101 and half motoring beauty. I did like the yellow lightning strike though!
  8. @windymiller a few months back I had it the other way round, the actuator for hot water tank circuit failed open circuit so every time the home heating was on heat would be pumped to the hot water tank if it was calling for it or not. Plus the biomass boiler was running at this time and you can't stop it immediately like you can with a conventional boiler. Hot water at +80C at the tap isn't as much fun as you'd think! Plus the amount of energy that was wasted and it had been like this for a while. No surprises that I had to change a failed central heating pump last month too.
  9. The longest trip I've done in my Esprit was from Swindon to pitching a tent in Glen Etive (before it became famous for James Bond Skyfall), which was around 450 miles there, then the same again few days later. Altogether that weekend I think it was a total of 1,200 miles and the Esprit handled it perfectly.
  10. I like the looks, the name not so much - arguments over is it pronounced Eletreeee or Eletraaaa. Anyway, not that I'll be able to afford one :(. I suspect this will turn out to be the new Chelsea tractor, or Chelsea milk float as it were. Not that that's a bad thing, it'll make the roads much more interesting and the soccer moms can run over even more cyclists in their silent running SUVs. This sounds like a bit of a negative post, it's not meant to be and I do hope it's a positive runaway success for Lotus.
  11. Awesome stuff. I enjoyed working on my Esprit on the drive in the day. The amount of conversations I had with neighbours and passer-by's was numerous, although a neighbour did comment that he saw me under the car more than in it.
  12. If you get an award and have to make a speech, probably best not to drone on too much. Or is it?!
  13. Thank you for posting the youtube link, this bloke does explain things quite well. I'm aiming to retire (in the sense of working for someone else) in about 11 years, when I'm 60. I've always wondered what is better - a. paying your mortgage off early by putting a bit extra in to it each month or b. investing the same amount over the same time frame. The answer depends on you but mathematically it's answer b. One thing I have learned is that you don't have to have paid your mortgage off to retire, as long as you can afford it. There's no point being house rich but money poor in your retirement.
  14. I'm between Invergordon and Tain and haven't had the Esprit out at all since we moved up here. That must change this year!
  15. My lad (6) had it last week for about 7 days, the other half has it this week and quite poorly with it too. I seem to have avoided it so far but I know it's in the post and coming for me, coming for us all eventually.
  16. Congrats on the car, I'll be sure to look out for you, the amount of Lotus's in the Highlands increases all the time!
  17. One for me, one for the boy and one for the loft . If Lego is an addiction I should really put myself together....
  18. I'm not big in to watches nor a collector, but I really like watching this guy restore watches.
  19. Yes, I have Care Refresh, got the fly more combo too . A bit gutted too as I've found some WW2 shore defences that would look great from a different angle. At the moment I'm just messing around with it while I can to get used to it, but the wind lately as been a bit of a problem.
  20. Finished 'Making A Murderer' on Netflix. It's not what you think it's going to be from the title, and it had me hooked. The American justice system being deficient and corrupt to the core and all the more shocking because it's based on true events. It's a bit like Tiger King but without the cringe and that annoying bloke.
  21. Awesome images Bibs. Not everyone gets to take those shots (legally) unless from a helicopter. My MM2 is grounded and ready to be boxed up and send to DJI for repair after getting tangled in a branch and hitting the ground from a measly 5 feet - one of the prop mounts is cracked. It can still fly, I don't think I should trust it.
  22. It's been good for me (crypto, not the pipe!).
  23. Moving south won't save you, take Nottingham as an example. Other councils will take note and see it as a feasible revenue stream and then label it under a 'green initiative'.
