    Emira GT4

That does look good, but it should be at the price bracket, although I’ve nothing to compare it with. Trevor.

    Emira GT4

Was it just GT4 customers and press that were invited or were there any Emira road car customers present?
  3. I know, familiar face but we got there in the end 🙂 Trevor.
  4. RACY was epic and sure it continues to be. Great to see it being used 👍 Trevor.
  5. Saw three GT430’s at Bicester Scramble today, one was my old car. Trevor.

    Ace Cafe

Last time I looked the Ace wasn’t operating after 18:00. Not sure why but I’ll have a look and see what their hours are currently. As Pete says, it’s now British Sports Car Night. Trevor. Looks like they are open in the evening now but no British night listed for the coming months. It pretty much died a couple of years again. Classic Car night doesn’t seem to be listed either. Trevor.
  7. Have I stumbled on a ricer forum where we are looking at big power figures to be the answer to our dreams? Perhaps Emira has done it’s job and appealed to those that don’t love Lotus core values of being a drivers car, after all, their strap line is “for the drivers”. I can’t see too much of a shadow being cast over the comparatively light GT430 by a heavier 4cyl Emira. Perhaps I’m stuck in the past, not that I mind, it’s quite nice her 😁. Trevor.
  8. To echo Pete’s thanks, well done as every year Bibs. Good to see those that were able to attend and the pub made a great effort to keep us all happy. Trevor.

  10. Was nice to see you all today, it’s been a while. Trevor.
  11. Sparky's Friday nights are legendary however a little too upmarket for me. T.
  12. Thanks for the link, that’s a cracker of a car. I don’t think it’s overpriced really given the tiny amount of miles covered and an opportunity to relive the past perhaps. Would I buy either of these cars? Yes if I could afford them then why not. I’ve just had an Apline A310 mechanically refreshed and it owes me more than these cars, with the benefit of hindsight I’d definitely have one of these two sitting in the garage. T.
  13. You’re right of course Barrie but I was thinking from a design and ability approach to what’s available today. Is there anything that can match an S1 Elise available now? Caterham would be close perhaps but less rounded in ease of use. I’m not an investor Justin as I like driving too much so the whole retained value is very much secondary for me. I’m sure it will hold its own in the future market even with some well enjoyed miles under the wheels. No doubt an attitude that has cost me money over the years of Lotus ownership but worth every penny. T.
  14. I’d be interested to know if there are any with lower mileage than this one, I suspect not. A crying shame it hasn’t been used but having seen it and been in it I can vouch for the mileage. I tend to view these cars as brand new and what I’d pay for a new one of these if it was in the showroom right now. Not sure where it will go on price but given the mileage and being one of the very last S1’s you’d think it could set a new bench mark figure. Lovely car. T.
  15. You’re kept longer at the roadside for 35 in a 30 and bigger fines plus points. T.
  16. All those that have ordered an FE 250 Cup, I salute you. As a 2019 250 Cup owner I just hope when my Emira is ready, I am in a position to hold on to mine and have both, a great pairing. Not sure that will be possible though. Trevor.
  17. Sadly Jimichanga makes good points when it comes to power to weight and I’d guess this is perhaps where he is most disappointed with where Lotus are headed. I’d agree on that too but accept that all cars if they want to compete in a mass market and end the financial struggles that Lotus have had in the past. Knowing Lotus staff and their core values I’m confident they’ll add the sparkle to Emira that is lacking with the cars in the competing sector but will be amazed if it’s better than a GT430, probably the pinnacle of the current era Lotus. Emira may be a sideways step in outright performance but a forward step useability with road craft perhaps the target over track ability. I look forward to using mine on a daily basis, can’t wait. Trevor.
  18. Like I said, very few will do this I think but of course some will. Time will tell. T.
  19. I like swapping gears and using all limbs so it’s a V6 for me. There seems to be a belief that the i4 is a much cheaper alternative, but I may be wrong however I’d think if you equal the spec on both cars then I can’t see there will be too much difference in the cost. Also many are talking of tuning potential of the i4, can see very few people tuning this while in warranty so that will be 3 years away. Why buy a car based on a power upgrade towards the end of 2025? Surely there will be an upgraded Emira to buy then with a fresh warranty? And fives will be on hybrid or all electric by that time with 2030 looming. Trevor.

So not official but just because he said so?

    Lotus Emira

How do you know the factory and Silverstone agreed they would be No.1?
