The way I understand it is if you’re self employed you can work and claim your 2.5k a Month from the Gov, I might be wrong on that but that is my understanding

yes you can. Few will get the maximum also this will all be added to your taxable income at the end of the year so make sure you don`t go into another tax bracket

@Dan E it’s vague at best presently and not many are getting transparent answers.

They have not confirmed the box from the tax return they will base profits on. Believe it’s based on the tax paid on final profits - so if you’ve used capital allowances for reinvestment - or say purchased a van for the ULEZ rules and written the value down - then you may well get penalised. Cheers Khan 👍

you can apply in June and get paid shortly after - not sure folks can defer eating until then.

Odd that many people seem to be returning to near normal in their activities. You have more chance of catching the virus in the UK now than ever. The number of new confirmed cases is increasing by about 4000 per day. 129044 positive tests to date and obviously many, many more who haven’t been tested. Sure, a lot of the early cases are now fully recovered so hopefully not a threat, but there must be tens, if not hundreds of thousands more people with the virus now, than there were when the original lockdown was announced.

My son and daughter both said that senior nurses and some of the doctors where they work (two different places, but the feeling is the same) are all quite worried if everybody goes back to normal, the numbers will spike.

No one has beaten the virus. It will still be out there. We have quarantined it to a degree, but we sure as hell haven't beaten it.

The confirmed cases will rise with the increased testing. Most analysts see the cross infection rate as having dropped below where we need it to maintain hospital functionality, so I'm expecting a relaxation of employment restrictions.

Economic decline and people avoiding medical attention is now having a significant health effect - the children's hospital is finding people presenting too late is  badly affecting outcomes.

Nope, tou're both wrong.

It is of course baby Loch Ness monsters.

They are migrating to another lake.

Obviously.

If you don't believe me, than post the picture on a genuine Loch Ness forum, and see what happens ;););)

Kind regards,

jacques

The vast majority of people who have had it have beaten it mate. We just don't have a viable vaccine yet.

By no one, I meant countries. I should have said that.

My comments and observations are my own, invariably "tongue in cheek", and definitely, sarcastic in nature. Therefore, do not take my advice, suggestions, observations or posts seriously or personally and remember if you do, do anything, that I may have suggested, then you have done this based solely on your own decision to do so and therefore you acknowledge responsibility and accountability (I know, in this modern world these are the hardest things for you to accept) for your actions and indemnify me of any influence, responsibility, accountability, or liability, in what you have done. In other words, you did it, so suffer the consequences on your own!

Those of us with a British Education and therefore a good grasp of UK biodiversity will know that the Loch Ness monster is in fact a diplodocus.😉

Those who claimed it was a plesiosaur were proved wrong years ago.

I suspect climate change has dried up Loch Ness and they are moving north.

Controversial I know (@barrykearley)😉

Although it looks like South in the photograph. It's been flipped by the russians. (North is usually to the left)

Back on the subject of our crap media journalists & their ridiculous and repetitive daily questions (stolen from a friend’s Facebook post))

*Hancock calls briefing, says we've created world-saving vaccine*

BBC: Will you apologise for not creating it sooner?

ITV: Isn't it true that it contains dead kittens?

C4: Why didn't you join an EU vaccination scheme?

Sky: You said creating a vaccine would be difficult, do you now accept that you weren't telling the truth?

Buzzfeed: 37 reasons why the UK is still a shit country

Independent: Isn't it true that austerity stopped the vaccine being made sooner?

Guardian: Vaccines are racist

Can't help but think it isnt necessary to fly workers in from Romania at this time. Instead of hiring planes why not hire coaches to bring out of work UK residents to the farms.

So 180 arrived coming through Stansted and none of them were tested

15,000 people a day are still arriving at British airports and none are tested. Your point?
